NAMM Recap: Connections, Creativity, and Unforgettable Moments

What an incredible week it has been at NAMM , filled with creativity, connections, and some truly unforgettable moments!
Here’s a recap of my dynamic experience:
The week kicked off with a series of insightful meetings around the city, especially some engaging chats with trailer music companies, laying the groundwork for future collaborations.
I also had the pleasure of visiting several studios, including witnessing a live orchestral recording for a top animated show at the prestigious Newman Scoring Stage, a location I enjoy visiting whenever I'm in LA.
A stop at Beach Avenue Studio in Inglewood was also on the agenda, where my trusted videographer (and driver) for the week, Aaron Cruz , works as one of the engineers.
A highlight was returning to the Los Angeles Academy for Artists & Music Production (LAAMP) as an alum. As luck would have it, right upon arrival, I bumped into two team members from Output Inc. —the company that awarded me the scholarship for LAAMP last fall! I sat in on a live playback session and met the legendary production duo Stargate. Adding to the magic, I discovered some incredible singers, songwriters, and rappers.
Then came the hallmark of my trip: NAMM! I set personal goals for the week, targeting specific meetings and pulling off yet another epic sync panel. The energy and creativity on display were truly inspiring.
Though you can catch recaps and photos on social media, here’s some quick insights and stories that come to mind:
While hanging outside of the Anaheim Convention Center, someone walked by with a custom guitar / beat pad device he created. He said my name (or "Da Fingaz") and it turns out...he was someone who attended one of my DMV Sync Meetups last year!
He’s an innovator, having invented a hybrid guitar/beat pad device. I’m hoping to assist him in finding a company that’s interested in this game-changing creation. It was incredible to hear him say he attended one of my events last year and that he is pursuing his passion in California.
