The naming of art... and puppies
People are curious about abstract art. How do you name your art? and What does the title mean?
The right title helps the viewer understand the context and story within the art.
Naming art, like naming puppies, is serious business.
Like the last puppy named (my Penny beagle)... I sit with the art enjoying its unique character. And I sit with a list of words, phrases and ideas collected on large graffiti sheets. These are the thoughts from books, conversations, experiences that influenced my creative process.
The art and the words dance and play, and soon find each other... the match is made. I also write a few sentences that help tell each art story. See the art and read their stories at btoddarts.com.
