Named to Tourism Review's Senior Advisory Board

I am honored and humbled to have been invited to join Tourism Review's Senior Advisory Board. Under the Editorship of Professor Dimitrios Buhalis, Tourism Review is the oldest journal dedicated to tourism issues. Indeed, the journal celebrated its 75 years of publication history in 2020.

Tourism Review aims to advance the understanding of tourism and to enhance the impact and relevance of tourism research to global society at large. This editorial direction is especially meaningful to me as the College of Business Dean at Hawaii Pacific University, which is based in Honolulu, Hawaii. Tourism makes up 21% of the state's economy, with many of Hawaii's largest industries revolving around the constant flow of tourists. Under the editorial leadership of Professor Buhalis, Tourism Review's rankings and importance have flourished.

I look forward to contributing to Tourism Review's publication success as a Senior Editorial Advisory Board Member and, hopefully, as a future author. I encourage my colleagues, faculty, and friends that are interested in hospitality/tourism investigations, to consider Tourism Review as a primary outlet.

I also applaud Emerald publishing for recognizing incredible talent and for encouraging editors to pursue interesting and impactful research. As Co-Editor of Journal of Services Marketing, which is also published by Emerald, I am proud to serve the Emerald family of publications as an Editor, Advisory Board Member, Editorial Board Member, and Reviewer. As academicians, we have an obligation to create intellectual knowledge and to encourage others to engage in the authorship process.

I look forward to seeing many new contributions in Tourism Review and to helping Hawaii expand its tourism and service industries.
