Nail it and scale it in 2023

2022. What a year! We emerged from Covid-19 lockdowns and adjusted to the ‘new normal’ everyone had been talking about. At aYo, however, nothing was ordinary.?We spent the year transforming our technology platforms and channels and laid a foundation for growth. We established operations in new markets, built new mobile money insurance products, and migrated customers to newer generation products and features.?We restructured operations and processes, and onboarded many new passionate team members as part of our expansion. Sanlam took a 50% stake in the business, which means we’re now owned by Africa’s biggest insurer and Africa’s biggest telecoms company, MTN.?The latter has turbocharged our ability to market and distribute insurance and savings products across the continent.

So, in 2023, we’re going large. Our motto for the year is to ‘nail it and scale it’. We’re going to leverage the enablers we’ve built, experiment and refine, and expand our customer base.?For us, it’s all about distributing a wider range of affordable and accessible financial services products, especially to irregular income earners.?We want to change Africans’ lives for the better. It’s a message of financial ubuntu across our beautiful continent.
