NACCHO Releases New Data Dashboard
NACCHO Research
Providing the most up-to-date and comprehensive data on local public health infrastructure and practice.
You may have heard that last week, we launched our new Profile Study Dashboard. This interactive platform presents results from the National Profile Study, the largest and most comprehensive data source on local health department infrastructure and practice. The dashboard provides the insights and findings of the static report in dynamic format, encouraging exploration and uncovering new insights. It also introduces new features that offer high level takeaways and narrative data insights tailored to provide actionable perspectives on key public health topics.
All of us here at NACCHO Research were thrilled to see people across the public health field and beyond trying out the dashboard and starting to integrate the data into their work. We heard from several local public health leaders, who noted that they anticipate using the dashboard to dig deeper into the Profile Study data and leverage features like the data stories. One local public health leader shared with us:?
“Telling our story is critical to letting people know about the value of public health. The folks at NACCHO take the data reported by local health departments and translate that into data stories that can be told to people who don't understand what we do or why we do it ... [The dashboard] is going to be a great asset to us to further advance public health.”
A few other highlights from the dashboard launch week included our latest article in JPHMP Direct which takes a deep dive into the platform; behind-the-scenes social media content; and a segment on the NACCHO Podcast!?
Want to stay involved with future dashboard updates? Continue to follow along here on LinkedIn, and make sure to follow us on Instagram and BlueSky. We will also be fielding the next Profile Study this year, so if you’re a local health official, keep an eye on your emails for more information about the survey. Completing it in a timely manner will be crucial for further support us in our mission of getting the right data, to the right people, in the right way.
Until next time, that’s a wrap from Research!
