Although I aspire to build a company with a sustainable and impact-focused mission," as Simon Sinek aptly stated, " People don't buy what you do; they buy why you do it." My journey towards sustainability hasn't always been a smooth one, as I'll candidly admit that there have been activities in my life that contribute to a larger carbon footprint than necessary. From indulging in lengthy showers to enjoying beach fires, which, I now know, produce ~15kg of emissions per fire, I recognize the role these moments play in my life and don't plan to exclude them anytime soon.
While some may perceive my lack of drastic changes in these habits as a shortcoming, I believe that life should be experienced with love, care for one another, dedication to family, and the creation of cherished memories. I believe an individual's true impact lies in positively influencing the lives of the people around them, prioritizing their well-being over the sole preservation of our planet. As leaders in sustainability have emphasized, our actions must focus on improving the quality of human existence while maintaining a deep appreciation for the pale blue dot we call home.
Residing in the Nordics, where safe and comfortable lives are the norm, I firmly believe that every individual on this planet deserves the same privileges both now and in the future.
As a founder committed to challenging the status quo and shaping Worthmore around impactful change, I am well aware that criticism will inevitably arise from those who expect more from me. Yet, my understanding of our evolving society extends beyond reducing carbon emissions - it starts with why. For me, it's about comprehending the significance behind our actions and working collectively to forge a future we can all be proud of.

Unpopular as it may be, I often express my conviction that humanity is arrogant to assume perpetual control over nature, whether for good or bad. In the words of renowned sustainability leaders, we must humbly recognize the grandeur of the natural world, understanding that our existence is but a fragment within its vastness. Instead of seeking dominion, our mission should center around harmonious coexistence, both with the environment and with one another. Addressing the challenges posed by global warming is merely the beginning. True preparedness involves embracing a lifestyle that nurtures a stronger foundation for tomorrow, while also embarking on a personal journey to discover our own voice, purpose, and a vision that brings us genuine pride.
In my personal view, innovation plays a crucial role in fostering industry transparency and corporate responsibility, such as Worthmore unveiling the impact of data usage on our carbon footprint. However, its significance extends far beyond that. We must embrace innovation as the key to preparing ourselves for a future that will be considerably warmer and filled with multifaceted societal challenges. This includes reevaluating our treatment of neighbors, examining the exploitation of people and resources for personal gain, and reassessing our production and consumption patterns. It encompasses the way we share and collaborate. For entrepreneurs everywhere, I believe it is our responsibility to take on this collective challenge, as it represents the defining mission of our generation.
Although I humbly acknowledge that I haven't always embodied the ideal of sustainability, my unwavering commitment lies in building a company that not only leaves a positive impact on the world but also touches the lives of people far and wide. For me, this pursuit of making a meaningful difference is and will always be the most important thing. As I venture forward, guided by the wisdom of leaders like Simon Sinek and the champions of sustainability, I make a rallying call to Zebra founders (or those building a company for purpose and profit) everywhere. Let us embrace the power of why in everything we do, foster harmonious coexistence with nature, and shape a future that not only safeguards our planet but also uplifts the lives of every individual. Together, let us tackle the greatest collective challenge of our time and pave the way for a more sustainable and impactful world. For this, I stand clear in my vision, and proud in my actions.
