Welcome to latest edition of "MyWayToLuminor" where we talk to our people, about how they got to Luminor, what they do in their roles and why they love working at Luminor.??

Today’s story is about Tatjana Danenberga, System Analyst in Business Intelligence and Data Department. Who started her career as Office Administration and now works in IT.

Can you tell me about your role? I'm a System Analyst in Business Intelligence and Data Department. System Analyst's role is like a bridge between business needs and code – I prepare technical requirements for development in Data Warehouse, create new fields and mappings, build and maintain different calculators.

What do you love about your role and in what exciting projects you are or were included? I often compare my job with a video game – I know the result that has to be reached, and I have raw material which has to be used in order to achieve the goal but my main task is to figure out "how?". Therefore, I have to think of different ways how to reach the goal, which includes trying, searching for mistakes and weak places, fixing, returning to the start again and again, until result is perfect and beast is surrendered.

Every project brings something new for me. Majority of the projects I was involved in, were about reporting to regulators, creating and improving calculators of different risk parameters.

How would you describe your way to Luminor? My way to Luminor started when I finished my studies. I joined Nordea Bank as a trainee in Office Administration. At that time I had zero experience in office or bank related positions – the only experience I had was working as a waitress while finishing my studies. After half a year I moved to Loan Operations, where I was responsible of new loan disbursements to customers and maintaining existing loans. Later I was involved in very interesting project regarding loan information reporting. Project was very challenging. It required a lot of new skills and learning. However, in the end I became an expert and it gave me knowledge and experience to move to IT department where I am now.

What makes you passionate while working here? It is never boring in Luminor. You learn and improve everyday by taking new challenges and tasks. From practical perspective I also appreciate possibility to work remotely (even before Covid-19 times) and plan working time according to my needs.

?Who inspired you to pursue the career you have today? My colleagues with whom I worked on my very first project. They have taught me and helped me to develop skills that are needed in my current role. We are still working and learning together and supporting each other. It is really great to have people with whom you can grow together. ?

What’s the best advice you can give to someone who just started their career? Don’t be afraid of doing new things. Learn from the people around you, take a chance to gain new skills. Even if you are not sure if you can do it, just try – you can easily step back if it doesn’t work for you, but you can achieve so much if it does work out.
