#MyWayToLuminor

Welcome to latest edition of "MyWayToLuminor" where we talk to our people, about how they got to Luminor, what they do in their roles and why they love working at Luminor.

Today’s story is about Goda Deltuvaite, Head of Regulatory Compliance Department. One of the main reasons why she loves working at Luminor is that it's never boring, and at the same time, each person working at Luminor is capable of making an impact!

Can you tell me about your role and what gets you most exciting about your role?Currently I am responsible for Regulatory Compliance department, which is taking care of 3 main areas: Compliance governance framework; Regulations change management and Regulatory Affairs. Me personally, I feel thrilled to understand how important these areas are for Compliance and for the entire Bank. Every small detail, every small step in all the processes contribute to Luminor being and becoming even more reputable, efficient and transparent. I very much like CEO’s quote that “Compliance is a competitive advantage”. I very much believe in it??.

What is like to be working with colleagues in other Baltic countries? I could not even imagine that it could be otherwise. Working closely together and talking to each colleague every day, makes no difference in which country the person is located. Sometimes I even catch myself approaching my Lithuanian colleagues in English language, since this has become so natural.

At the same time Luminor is exceptional for having colleagues from many other countries, including Germany, UK and many other ??. Geographical diversity brings multicultural experiences, which are never boring. I’m really curious to find out what Estonian Kama and Latvian Kvass are.

What's your favorite part about working at Luminor? My favorite part is that here it is never boring. Routine? Never heard about that ??. Even though it is not always easy to catch up with the speed of the organisation, quick decisions make the progress and results being seen soon. At the same time, each person working at Luminor is capable of making an impact. “Thinking outside the box” – this is what Luminor needs in its transformation. Being relatively flat organisation, Luminor empowers its team with decision making powers. If a person has a good idea how to make a change and become more efficient, nobody will keep this idea in the drawer. We are all here building the bank together!

What company value resonates with you most and why? I think collaboration is the key value which brings people together, solves the challenges and leads to smooth and efficient decisions. Collaboration is always followed by respect being the common human value. For me, respectful behavior in your words and deeds is the way to building bridges within Luminor and outside.

What’s the best advice you can give to someone who just started their career? Firstly, try to be realistic – all of us start our career from a blank page and it is us who are holding the pen ???. Stay patient and focused, creating your own value takes time, but it is definitely worth it. Be a hard worker – they don’t teach it at school, take a chance to learn from challenging experiences. And most importantly, be a “yes” person, because “yes” opens you the gate, the door and the windows.???
