Mystery of three toys

Mystery of three toys

Heartfulness story-23

A man used to travel around and sell toys. One day, he arrived at a kingdom where he discovered that the king was very fond of new and unique toys.

So, he went to the king’s palace where the court was being held and said, "Your Highness, today I will show you toys which you have never seen before."

The king permitted him to present his toys in court.

The toy seller took out three toys from his box that looked like human figures. Displaying them before the king, he said, "These toys are very special in themselves. Although they look alike, they are actually quite different."

He pointed at the toys one by one and said, "The value of the First one is thousand gold coins, the Second one is for hundred gold coins, and the value of the Third one is only one gold coin."

The king looked at those three toys very carefully, but could not see any difference among them, and wondered why there was such a great difference in price!

Not able to find any himself, the king asked his ministers to find the difference. The ministers looked at those toys from all sides but couldn’t solve the mystery.

Then the king asked the Royal Priest {teacher} to take a look. The priest looked at those toys very carefully and ordered to bring three hay straws.

When the straws arrived, the priest put one straw in the ear of the first toy. Everyone could see that the straw went straight into the stomach and, after a while, the lips of the toy moved and then closed.

Then, he put a straw in the ear of the next toy, and this time everyone saw the straw come out of the other ear and there was no other movement.

Seeing this, everyone grew even more curious as to what would happen next.

Now the priest put a straw in the third toy's ear, and its mouth opened at once and kept moving constantly as if it wanted to say something.

Seeing this, the king asked the royal priest, "What is all this and why is there so much difference in the price of these toys?"

The priest replied, "A man of character always keeps to himself what he has heard. And only after confirming it, does he open his mouth. That is his greatness. This is the wisdom we get from the first toy, and that’s the reason its value is thousand gold coins.

Some people are always engrossed in themselves and ignore everything else. They don’t have any desire for any attention or appreciation from others. Such people never harm anyone. This is the what we learn from the second toy, and that’s the reason its value is hundred gold coins.

Some people have weak ears and loose mouth. After hearing anything, they will tell people around them without even trying to find out if it’s true or not, and they will spread false knowledge in society. That is why its value is only one gold coin."
