Mysteries of the Seed.
“In the morning sow your seed and at evening withhold not your hand, for you do not know which will prosper this or that, or whether both alike will be good”(Ecclesiastes 11:6)
I ponder and wonder; how seeds multiply their kind. Yes, I understand the explanations of science concerning such magnificent work of nature. However, I can’t help but think that a force of multiplication exists which transforms a seed into abundant multiples of its kind. Was it the elements in the seed or the elements in the earth where it was sown? I realized that this force of multiplication exists both in the seed and in the earth. In my meditations on the words of King Solomon (referenced above) about the seed and the act of sowing it, I received a more profound revelation into the principle of sowing and reaping.?

There are seasons in life when everything seems to work according to plans and projections. I call them the ‘morning’ season, characterised by sunshine and cool winds. In this season, everything touched turns to gold and one tends to harvest in abundance effortlessly. These are the easy times when sowing is done with great enthusiasm. In contrast, there are particular seasons in life when everything takes a turn in the opposite direction of plans, projections and desires. Everything seems to not work evidenced by subsequent failures, losses, rejections and disappointments. I call them the ‘evening’ season, characterised by sunset and the arrival of? night. These are tough times when the thought of seed sowing is discouraging, arduous and stressful if not painful. At one or more times in everyone’s life, these tough seasons come. It is imperative that one does not recline in defeat or abandon the instruction to sow seeds.? Seed, in this context refers to creative deployment of one's gifts and talents, taking opportunities, learning something new and improving self. Focus on the seed, focus on your effort and allow the outcomes because they are not in your control. Do your duty, find the seeds, sow them, water them and wait patiently for your harvest. Napoleon Hill in the ageless “Think and Grow Rich” said, “every adversity brings with it the seed of an equivalent advantage”. This proves true even in our darkest moments, there are seeds of advantage at our disposal. So, I charge you today to fetch the seeds you have neglected as a result of the tough times you have had to endure. You may be going through a tough season now but it is no excuse why you should not sow your seeds. Take your time to face it, stare down on the challenge, brace yourself and do something in the direction of what you want to see and where you are going. No retreat, No surrender. Therefore, sow your seed in the morning and at evening withhold not your hand for you do not know which will prosper. This or that, or whether both alike will be good. I hope you find the strength in you and remember your power that conquers in every season of your life. Keep sowing!
