Mystery & Magic of our Connected Lives

Mystery & Magic of our Connected Lives

28-11-2023

I'm a great believer in the mystery and magic of life, and this keeps happening again and again. It just happened yesterday, so I'm going to share that story with you.

On the 25th of November, I was at IIT, and there was this wonderful seminar titled "Beyond Algorithms: Heart in Leadership." I was the keynote speaker.

I really loved the topic; it's very close to my heart. It's something I believe in. So, I went and delivered the talk. I knew that the talk was making the required impact.? People were enjoying it. For a speaker, the connection with their faces always indicates what is going on in their minds. It was a very positive experience.

The director of IIT, Dr. Kamakoti, was there and appreciated the talk. Then we had some very interesting, very meaningful question-answer sessions post the talk.? and I think with each question being answered, the conviction about the topic and the concepts shared became stronger.

?One such question came from a young lady, Bharathi. She asked me a very deep question, and that was an opportunity to clarify joyously a very essential concept.? Post the talk, we exchanged pleasantries and took snaps.

Then yesterday evening, closer to around? 5, I saw that there was a posting by Bharathi on LinkedIn, the social media platform. Bharti had written about the talk, what she liked about it, and that it touched her deeply.

That was very moving for me. That's the whole purpose of what I try to do in my life: to communicate positive, optimistic ideas of life based on fundamental principles of existence, what you may call the living Dharma. And here was a person appreciating that. So I felt very good. I thought I'd do a posting today, thanking her for what she had written.

So, I went to LinkedIn to check her profile. Then I saw that she was working for a tech company, Neeyamo, in Chennai. I was curious about the company, so I went a little deeper, and looked at the organization, then looked at the leadership team of the organization.

WOW! My eyes almost popped out. The founder and chairman of the company was my good friend, Ashok Bildekar!

I had no idea that Neeyamo was a company founded by Ashok Bildekar. I became curious and wanted to know more about the company. I also saw that Anagha Bildekar was one of the senior executives in the company, and the name struck a chord in my mind.

Quickly, I went into LinkedIn again, searched for Ashok Bildekar's profile, and immediately sent him a message, talking about Bharti and the phenomenal discovery in all this connection. He sent me a message saying, "Hey Raja, I'll call you back at 6:30."

And at 6:30, he called back. Ashok Bildekar, a good friend, from way back from 1996-97. That was when I was consulting for Hexaware, Ashok was a very important part of the team. Subsequently, Ashok went to CalibrePoint, and again, I'd done some work & we had a very warm and friendly relationship.

So we chatted, we caught up about each other's life! He was very happy and promised to call and meet up when he's in Chennai next time. Right now, he's in Pune, "living a semi-retired life" as he claims!?

Then he said something mind-blowing. He asked me if I remembered that more than 20 years back, I had helped him get admission for his child to the PSBB school in Chennai. I had almost forgotten. He said, "How can I forget, Raja?" It really melted my heart. We chatted for some more time and promised to catch up.

?This is what magic is all about, friends.

?You never know what kind of mystery and magic will unravel in life. But when you look back, there are so many awesome moments, As Steve Jobs says, you connect the dots looking backwards.

Call this a coincidence? I believe there's an amazing design behind all these experiences. It is not a “scheme “but there is truth.

The truth is to be open to every other human being possible. Grant to the other person the same thing you grant yourself. My dear friends, give this a possibility in life. Start seeing yourself in the other person. Magic happens. you keep giving to the world, then magic keeps happening!

Thank you, Bharti. I can't thank you enough for this I’m going to be in touch with you. And this is going to come as a posting on LinkedIn in response to your posting.

In awareness & Love

Sir, I'm spellbound by the simplicity of what this post talks about. Simplicity and truth of humans. And it's so amazing to reconnect with you. I hope you always continue to inspire us, and look forward to my conversations with you.?
