Myopia Progression In Children

Current myopia management treatment science is focused on younger children. It’s well established that the earlier myopia starts, the more rapidly it progresses.?Luckily, it’s also known that the sooner we start treatment the better it works. All that said, what about adults who present with progressing myopia? It’s not as big of a problem, but the data in?this study?certainly reminds us that it’s a problem nonetheless. Of course, the treatment challenge placed before us is that current treatments and studies have been focused on younger populations. Given the low risk of currently available treatments, it makes sense to have candid discussions with your adult patients about the risks and benefits of treatment.
