There are many risk factors for myopia with just as many challenges stratifying their relative importance.?Reading posture in bed, sleep patterns, and outdoor time are likely to all be contributory.?But, we don’t know which risk factors are more important than others.?However, on the genetic side of the equation,?this meta-analysis?found parental myopia to be the one factor with the strongest association.?While not necessarily surprising, it is gratifying to see researchers attempting to help clinicians align presenting risk factors with actual risks.
