“Leadership is not a position or a title, it is action and example.” – Cory Booker
In the current dynamic corporate era, it is imperative to have good leadership. A good leader is someone who creates an inspiring vision for the future and motivates people to engage and align with that vision. However, the path to leadership is not easy. It first requires mastering self-leadership and then motivating/leading a group of people.
This is a special year as it marks the completion of 25 years for CBRE in India. To make these celebrations special, I would like to share some instances from my life that have left a great mark on me. I call them my personal milestones that have acted as stepping stones to put me on the right path.
Leadership skills are never constant and keep evolving with time and situations. Each year, in my mere 25 years at CBRE have taught me various aspects of leadership that today has made me better. Some choices played in my favor and some didn’t. The mistakes have also taught and molded me into a better person.
I hope this learning will help you and give a perspective on how you can improve as a leader.
The first post in the series, to be released in the coming week, will be on #TeamBuilding
