Mygrow's new Partner in East Africa??

We are on a mission to change the world by developing Emotional Intelligence. But we know we can't get there on our own.


As a result, in our Partnership program, we've connected with consultants and coaches in various regions to see leaders, teams and individuals grow in their ability to manage themselves and others better.


With that in mind, we want to give you a little more insight into our first partner in East Africa, The Brand Inside - Africa under the leadership of Culture Change expert Chris Harrison.?


East Africa is a well-developed regional market centred on Nairobi, Kenya, and embracing Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda. These markets are very different but they all share major multinational and regional companies and an extensive NGO community. But organisational cultures are based on established Western models, which often cause issues in staff engagement. They also tend to be top-down driven and they very much reflect the ego of the Managing Director. These are factors that limit their ability to progress, and increase their need for organisational culture change initiatives.?


This is the gap The Brand Inside has sought to fill in this market. The business is in its tenth year of operation and is a pioneering consultancy in Organisational Culture Transformation in Africa. They are a commercial consultancy, focused on improving the business performance of the enterprise. Specifically, they work to align the organisation's Business Purpose with its Brand Promise and ensure that these are correctly expressed in new and more productive Employee Behaviours.?


"We coach culture change bottom-up, motivating and empowering employees to develop initiatives for senior management approval. To date, we have supported more than 70 organisations - from Cape Town to Algiers,” says The Brand Inside founder, Chris Harrison.??


When The Brand Inside became aware of Mygrow they were struck by the insight that in order to really transform culture, you need to support organisational change by adapting the nature of the talent base, or the nature of the “agents in the system” as Mygrow CEO Mark Baker often says.?


This involves specifically, changing the EQ competencies of employees so that they can make the best possible use of the opportunities created by a culture that has been revitalised. In other words, in Mygrow, The Brand Inside found a solution to EQ development at scale.

And so our hope is that this partnership will accelerate positive culture change in East Africa's vigorous private sector - making our businesses more meaningful for their stakeholders and more attractive for their customers, thereby improving productivity and performance.
