My youngest patient who went through a kidney transplant at the tender age of 5 years.

This affectionate and lovely child was born with a congenital abnormality called PUV, in which bladder gets involved and subsequently kidneys get damaged. In these children we first prepare the bladder with augmentation + Mitrofanoff and then these children undergo a kidney Transplant. His first part surgery was done a year back in another hospital and when the parents returned for transplant they found me in BLK -MAX.

His mother donated a kidney and now after about 5 months, post-surgery he is well and has recovered fully by the grace of the almighty. Paediatric Transplant is the most challenging Job we are having w.r.t surgery and postoperative management.

Small children when they receive adult kidney leads to many changes in body which needs management as a team. We have over a million such children globally who suffer by birth with this anomaly. One can only imagine the mental trauma the parents have to go through when they observe their child going through such a painful situation.
