My Year in Review; 2023 - Impact, Growth, and Collaboration

As we approach the close of 2023, I am filled with gratitude and reflection on the remarkable journey this year has been—a year marked by impactful achievements, meaningful collaborations, and continuous growth. As I share my year in review, I aim to provide insights into the strides made in advancing various sectors and fostering strategic partnerships.

• Deeply grateful and privileged to have successfully led the revitalization of a key partnership with one of the largest foundations in the world, and successfully secured significant funding through strategic engagements.
• Successfully restored the partnership with the leading global organization committed to immunization. This has opened avenues for impactful collaborations in advancing immunization initiatives in Nigeria.
• Secured partnerships with prominent organizations, including a leading telecommunications foundation and a major infrastructure company, resulting in substantial capital funding for nationwide primary healthcare infrastructure enhancement.
• Established strategic partnerships with industry leaders, healthcare technology giants, philanthropic organizations, and professional services firms bringing diverse expertise and resources to advance our shared goals.
• We formally launched Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) revitalization projects in Rivers and Edo states, totaling ?4.3 billion in combined value.
• We broadened our oversight efforts, and as the Focal Lead, I coordinated substantial disbursement for the revitalization of PHCs to encompass infrastructure upgrades, medical equipment procurement, and capacity building for the healthcare workers.
• Led successful post-commissioning reviews of revitalized PHCs – Jumberi PHC in Bauchi and Model PHC Boji Boji in Delta States, ensuring their functionality and impact on sustainable healthcare initiatives. It is worth mentioning that the revitalization efforts have significantly improved healthcare accessibility, evidenced by the substantial increase in OPD visits, ANC registrations, skilled deliveries, and vaccine administrations, positively impacting the lives of the communities served.
• Co-hosted the Healthcare panel at the Africa Social Impact Summit which focused on the intersection of innovation and accessibility in healthcare across the African continent.
• Confirmed and accepted a role as an Advisory Board Member for Serena Space Digital Innovation, providing strategic advice and industry insights to drive the company's growth.

On Leadership Development

• Presented at the PSHAN 2023 Annual Conference on 'Public-Private Collaboration for Building Sustainable Health Systems in Nigeria: The ADHFP Approach.'
• Spoke on the 'Role of Women in the Power Selection of Africa' at the Africa Women Impact Summit; shared perspectives on empowering women in influential roles.
• Hosted the episode of the PSHAN Podcast on 'Driving Innovation in Healthcare – Collaborations for Research and Development' with special guests from Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, and Sanofi Pasteur.

• Participated in The Digital Mom Project launched by mDoc and supported by the Lagos State Government and MSD for Mothers with a focus on leveraging technology to enhance maternal health outcomes.
• Participated in the WASH Open Innovation 2023 fair organized by IHS (Nigeria) Limited, FC4S Lagos, NCIC, and FMDQ Group Plc focused on water, sanitation, and hygiene innovations.
• Played a key role in the successful closure and dissemination of the End Line Report on Vaccine Hesitancy Assessment, including sharing insights from the study conducted in Lagos, Kano, and the FCT.
• Spoke and facilitated a session at the Nigerian Sustainable Banking Principles Industry Meeting, and discussed 'The role of financial institutions in achieving quality healthcare.'
• Addressed gender-based violence among teenagers at the Sterling One Foundation 'Chatroom' Movie Screening. Shared insights to foster awareness and solutions.

• Attended the Nigeria Solidarity Support Fund (NSSF) WeNaija Book Launch and contributed to discussions on solidarity and support in Nigeria.

• Attended the Orange Corners Incubation Nigeria Cohort 9 Pitch Competition/Deals Room Event, organized by The Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Lagos in partnership with Fate Foundation.
• Attended the farewell meeting hosted by Sterling One Foundation to bid adieu to the outgoing UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator, Mr. Matthias Schmale.

On Building Networks

Under my previously founded venture, Business Square Connect, secured impactful partnerships with reputable organizations, including WSI International, Africa Women Impact Summit, and Arno Company.
• Through strategic partnerships, we diversified our network, connecting with influential leaders, thought pioneers, and industry experts.
• As the founder of Business Square Connect, I take immense pride in the achievements of this year, celebrating the successful facilitation of executive connections and the establishment of impactful collaborations.

On Self Care and Relaxation

• Enjoyed a rejuvenating vacation at the Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, recognized for its innovation and as a premier luxury casino resort.
• Took dedicated time to celebrate my birthday and cherish personal milestones.

• Actively participated in diverse cultural and social events, such as the ARISE Fashion Week & Jazz Festival and The Adire Lagos Experience by Ecobank to broaden my perspectives and engage with a variety of experiences.

• Honoured to have a jumper designed by The Wuman Brand, derived from symbolisms drawn from my face????, and showcased at the Portugal Fashion Week.

As I reflect on 2023, I am proud of the strides made, the challenges overcome, and the invaluable lessons learned. My commitment to driving innovation, cultivating collaboration and supporting sustainable systems in Nigeria stands firm and resolute. I am eager and prepared to bring my wealth of experience, leadership, and strategic vision to more meaningful projects and impactful endeavors in the future.
