My Year 2016. A Summary by a Specialist Clinical Dietitian.

It's the last week of 2016, and I want to thank the universe for intellectually fulfilling, national and international professional collaborations. Among others,

... I was a Mentor for a German diagnostics company, and aided them on how best to introduce their Point-of-Care (POC) lactate meter for athletes, to the Indian sports nutrition market.

... Assumed the role of a Thought Leader for a British pharmaceutical giant to ideate, innovate, fill product gaps, and shape the strategy for its OTC (over-the-counter) nutrition range, both in India and globally, for the next 10 years.

... Also employed my foresight for the Singapore branch of a healthcare multi-national on how the future reads for the Mens Healthcare market in India by 2025.

... Had a wonderful association with a global pharma major and helped build their marketing communications for their Rx drug for a debilitating disorder, with respect to interactions of diet with the drug.

... To wind up, there was this commissioned study on substance abuse (specifically tobacco), in a North-East India based tribal community, and its influence on their nutritional status.

... Then there are my patients, old and new, who make me feel fulfilled, as there is nothing better than alleviating someone's pain or reducing their pill burden. There are so many disorders where diet is palliative and supportive to modern medicine (e.g. cystic fibrosis) and still many where diet is the absolute mainstay in keeping the disorder in control (e.g. phenylketonuria, maple syrup urine disease, refractory pediatric epilepsy), all this and more cutting edge information, and consulting options for global patients, in my upcoming website for 2017.
