What is your role at Blackrock Health??????????????????????????????????

I am the Emergency Department Administration Team Lead at Blackrock Health Hermitage Clinic. My role is to manage our busy Emergency Department and ensure everything runs smoothly. I work with my incredible team to ensure that every person that enters the emergency department receives the best care possible.

What time do you wake up in the morning? ??????????????????????

6am. I get up early to walk my dog and come in half an hour early to work and have my breakfast there.

Do you have a morning routine when you get to work?

Every morning, I come in 30 minutes early to set myself up and have breakfast with my other early riser colleagues. I really enjoy our little breakfast club which sets me up for the day!

How long have you been in this role?????????????????????????????????????

I have worked at Hermitage Clinic for 8.5 years now. I have worked throughout several departments, but I always return to the Emergency Department because of the amazing team. We are all friends, and everyone works so well together. Another reason why I love working in the department is because every day brings a new challenge.

What is the most rewarding part of your job at Blackrock Health?

I love to help people and every day at my job I get to do just that. Whether it is patients or staff, I will always go out of my way to help people in whatever capacity they need. I have been here for a long time so the staff know that if they have any problems or need support, they can call on me.

It is incredibly rewarding to watch a patient get better and know that I was a part of their recovery. Every day I can go home and know that the day was a success because I helped people.

How does your role contribute to improving the patient experience at Blackrock Health?

Hospitals can be scary and unsettling for people, especially for those who have just experienced an emergency. My team and I do what we can to make every patient’s experience as calm and comfortable as possible. We are always on hand to support and assist with any problems. I ensure that the department is organised to ensure that our world class healthcare professionals get to them in a timely manner.

What is the greatest piece of advice you were ever given?

Treat others as you would like to be treated yourself!
