We all receive gifts at Christmas that we look at and go "that is simply ghastly!" or "What am I to do with that?!" Usually accompanied by a smile of overjoyed appreciation and comments of "how brilliant/how funny/how lovely!" as you resist the temptation to take a hold of it in two fingers and at an extended arm's length, to drop it into the nearest disposal unit followed by vigorous hand-washing!
I have a solution for you...send them all to me! Well, not me precisely, although you could, but send them all to Cancer Research UK shops, or to our local fundraising groups. (You are never far from one or the other.)
There is nothing, no matter how distasteful, ugly, odd, large, small etc. that one way or another CRUK cannot use, or find a buyer for! Every bit of that hideous, tasteless, useless, tat to you, is part of an amazing new cancer treatment discovery to us.
So please, bin that gift as soon as the donor is out of sight...... into our collections bags! (Available free to you on request. Search online for your nearest local store/group. Give them a call and they'll let you know how to best donate your "ghastly's".)
Let your Christmas gift do something fabulous for mankind instead. Happy New Year everyone!
