My why for the Ride to Conquer Cancer.

My why for the Ride to Conquer Cancer.

This is the fourth time that I will be participating in the ride to conquer cancer

As I reflect on my reason for the first ride, I had close friends Suzy and Zac, Suzy's dad had passed from brain cancer, and Zac had asked me to ride with him, it was close to my heart as my Aunty Angela had passed away from brain cancer, I was riding to support Zac but also in honour of Angela,?

For the next two years, I rode on my own, I was in the process of my own healing journey, being on the bike, and organising a fundraiser was a big part of the healing.?

This year, I am riding with my mate Troy, His wife Daniela passed away from Cancer last year, Daniela and Troy have been our friends for 20 years, Daniela went to school with my wife Linda and they were bridesmaids at each other's weddings.?

Troy and I recently reconnected and started riding and the conversation lead to how we could honour Daniela's life.?

Yes, we ride in memory of those we have lost, but more importantly, I'm riding for those left behind, Troy, Danika, Tristan, Liam and Jaxon. It's about creating community, including their kids in the process, Choosing the name for our team, picking the logo, helping design our kits and being a big part of the quiz night fundraiser we are planning.??

We would love to see you there.

Together, we can help make cancer history.
