My Weight Loss Journey

This is my first article about my weight loss journey as it may inspire anyone reading this to take their journey seriously.

Before I elaborate on my journey step by step, I was 115.3 kgs in September 2021 which went up to 118.4 kgs in March 2022.

What is my current weight? Read more below :)

In September 2021, I finally decided to do something about my weight as I was obese and wasn't feeling confident when I looked at myself in the mirror. I went past numerous times a fitness studio, but never had the urge to get in and do something about my fitness.

One fine day, I decided to go and have a chat with the trainer, Phil who own the very same studio that I walked past. He was welcoming and most importantly had wealth of knowledge on weight loss. After lengthy chat, he decided to put me on Bio scan and the numbers weren't surprising at all. All the numbers went through the roof and I got worried for the "future me". That is when I felt it was 'time' to get things started.

Ideally, we decided it will be good idea to start 2x30 minutes a week personal training session. For the first few weeks I was finding it really hard to move and was very exhausted. But Phil gave me an environment which was fun, welcoming and supportive. He never judged me and that motivated me to get into the training without missing a single session.

Fast forward to March 2022, I had started to develop an unexplained pain in my finger, so booked an appointment with my GP. She gave me few tests to do and the numbers again weren't surprising. All the numbers skyrocketed from previous tests. That really motivated me to work even harder.

I started to focus on other areas to improve my overall fitness and not just my weight loss.

Walking was never a problem for me. I started to walk 2,000 steps a day, gradually increasing every week. Within a few months I consistently did 10,000 steps a day gradually increasing it to 20,000 steps a day.

Next, the big one is the Diet. Being a vegetarian, incorporating certain food groups were limited. When I started this journey, I started to eat healthy rather than mindless snacking. I do have my cheat days where I occasionally eat at restaurants so I don't feel deprived of eating out. I also have an dietician who keeps me on track on what I eat and how much I eat. It is always good to have a dietician so that you do not lose focus.

By consistent hard work, determination and self belief, I was able to lose a total of 38.8 kgs till date. My current weight is 79.6 kgs.

A huge thanks to my family and friends who have inspired me in one way or the other.

Also, a big shout out to Phil, my trainer and my GP for their constant nagging, advise and support. I am still going for my training sessions as it has now become a part of me. Finally, I've got a few goals that I want to achieve this year and I will post it as and when I achieve those!

Thanks for taking time to read about my weight loss journey!

I believe, this story may inspire someone who are in the same path as me to keep going.

Good luck!
