I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas.
Our holiday traditions include hot cocoa, popcorn, and family movie time. The weekend was filled with joyous family time. What did your family do?
I wanted to start doing a weekly wrap-up to summarize what I've been doing lately, this one was delayed due to the holiday, better late than never.
Training:
?Creative Cloud Crash Course: Ch. 1.3 Adobe InDesign: Page Layout Ch. 2.1 Adobe Photoshop on iPad*: Clipped layers. in progress, Ch. 2.2 Adobe Illustrator on iPad* This one is proving to be a little difficult to convert even to my Surface Studio (touchscreen), I will figure it out though.?
*I don't own any apple devices but figured out how to do lesson 2.1 on my desktop.?#problemsolving?#adaptable.

Completed two images in my Color & Brush Experiment, viewable here:?https://christachandler.myportfolio.com/color-brush-experiment?Crochet a giant peppermint swirl for my husband's chair. It's a giant circle chair, it looks like a cup… The normal rectangular peppermint swirl throw didn't look right on his chair, when I completed the pillow (1 big peppermint swirl) I thought that would look better as a chair cover.?I didn't quite have enough to completely cover the chair. None the less he got an entire peppermint set for Christmas. You can view it here:?https://christachandler.myportfolio.com/candy-peppermint-swirl-throw-blanket
Networking:
I joined "Nextdoor" a social media network powered by Microsoft for neighbors to connect online.?Sounds silly but it is the post covid world we live in.?It seems awesome.?You can get to know neighbors, welcome new neighbors to the neighborhood, buy, sell, trade, give away things. I ended up helping someone! There are a lot of houses in Peru built circa 1900. The tax records are all messed up after a flood and a fire at the courthouse.?I knew from genealogy research and looking up my own house, that a more accurate date could be found.?This neighbor was talking about her c.1900 house and it predated floor plans.?I thought a more accurate build date would help her with her search. I offered suggestions of where to look for more info on her home.?She was able to get an exact build year and the contracting company who built it! Yay! I say that's a step in the right direction! There were others who commented they were glad I chimed in because they had the same issue too. I will make some posts to offer tips, even tutorials, but I'm thinking there is a real service needed here. It takes a lot of time to do accurate research, more time than some might have. Business Idea: I could do home research, my husband can do measurements and draw floor plans, and for those who want it my son could create a 3D model of their home.?I could follow the appropriate channels with them to fix their real-estate and tax records to reflect the accurate dates of construction and building materials (mine was wrong too).?Clients would be Homeowners, business owners, real estate agencies, and city or county government (they should want it fixed too). Next Door can even help you locate your lost pets.?I like where this platform is going. You should join too.?https://nextdoor.com/
Looking to the future:
I hope this week is just as fruitful.?Looking forward to 2023!
