My Weekend

My Weekend

Hey guys,

I hope you're having an amazing day today.

I wanted to take a moment to provide some real value for this journey we all call life.

This newsletter is called Creator Secrets Unveiled, but today, I wanted to do something a little different.

Come along with me on a journey.

Growing a Powerful Personal Brand

Usually, you're here to grow your incredible and powerful personal brand.

These are just some secrets from a content creator like myself who dove into this space a few years ago—and now, I’ve built a whole media company around it.

Which leads me to the story about my weekend.

Let me take it back a few weeks earlier.

I came across such a powerful and interesting character.

His name is Rugare Gomo.

Meeting Rugare Gomo: A Story of Resilience

I first discovered him through one of our magnificent clients, Anastacia Wainana, a leadership strategist and author, who had Rugare on her show.

We released this powerful video to the world, and even now, it’s still gaining remarkable traction.

And we have an exciting surprise coming from Anastacia as well—stay tuned!

Anyway, Rugare was incredibly impressed by our work, and so were we.

His story is one of strength and resilience—an African immigrant from Zimbabwe who migrated to Australia at just 16.

Rugare faced countless obstacles.

From dealing with visa issues, to being told he didn’t belong, to navigating the world as a gay man in a society that wasn't always accepting.

Can you imagine the struggles?

The doubts, the fears, knowing that people are still persecuted for being who they are? It’s heartbreaking.

Fast forward to today, we’re managing Rugare’s amazing podcast, and our team has been deeply impacted by his wisdom and attention to detail.

Through this journey, Rugare has helped us refine our systems and develop some of the very services we offer today, thanks to his creativity and vision.

Attending Rugare’s Book Launch

So, when Rugare invited me to his book launch for his incredible new book, Dreams: Forging Your Own Path, in Melbourne, I knew I had to go.

My father and I decided together that we had to be there.

We had to support this powerful story as fellow Africans.

Rugare is the first gay Black man to come out with a book like this, and it’s monumental.

My dad and I often talk about how the West accepts our children who are different, more than our own people sometimes do. And we, with our media company, have a platform.

It’s our duty to share and uplift these powerful stories.

So, we made the trip.

And let me tell you, the way life works is incredible.

As I was getting ready to go, I ended up commenting on a LinkedIn post.

Funny enough, the connection named Paul Hy lived in Melbourne and invited my father and me to an exclusive Lamborghini event.

An Unexpected Experience: Lamborghini Event

It reminded me of what life is truly about: authentically expressing yourself and being YOU. We had an amazing time, and I documented the whole experience, which I’ll be sharing on my YouTube channel soon.

A Special Family Outing: AFL Game

That same weekend, I spent some special time with my family.

On Saturday, we did something we had never done before—we went to watch an AFL game together.

It was an exciting experience, full of energy and passion, and I’ll never forget how much fun we had as a family.

The atmosphere was electric, and it was a great way to bond over something new. It’s moments like these that remind me of the importance of balancing work, family, and experiences.

The reason I’m sharing this with you is to encourage you.

I know it can be challenging at times—being a CEO, an entrepreneur, while constantly striving toward your ultimate goal.

But just like Rugare, you have the power to express yourself authentically and overcome whatever stands in your way.

Look at Rugare now—a high-level CEO, a newly published author, and the host of a powerful event.

And this is just the beginning for him.

I want you to know that there’s always light at the end of the tunnel.

Use LinkedIn to your advantage.

Engage with people, comment on their posts, and build real connections.

It’s not just about metrics or sales for your business; it’s about authenticity, love, and genuine care for the people you’re serving.

This weekend showed me that personal branding is about more than just promoting yourself—it's about caring.

Truly caring about your name, your legacy, and how you can uplift others on their journeys as well.

Now is the time for you to rise up and be YOU.

It’s time to stand for something greater, to care about the impact you’re making, and to walk in your purpose.

I look forward to sharing more valuable insights with you.

And if you’d ever like to meet for coffee or ask me questions, feel free to reach out—let’s have a chat.

Wishing you all the best.

Warm Regards,

Sugira Rubasha
