My week at Nordic BIM Forum in Copenhagen
I visited this week the Nordic BIM Forum in Copenhagen organised by our partner Thomas Graab?k of BIM Equity and Nohrcon and attended nice presentations about state of art open BIM implementations.
What I particularly liked was, besides a very diverse program, that all sponsors had (only) 10 minutes to present their tools in a "real life" AEC-workflow, they called this OPEN BIM IN ACTION. Starting with a design in ARCHICAD, through MEP and structural engineering with Tekla Software, quality checking in Solibri, Inc., VR Studio, communication in Bluebeam & BIMcollab, via Dalux site inspection to facility management... I'm sure I forget some nice software! Of course all collaboration went via IFC as main information carrier. Nice detail was that the BIM model of GRAPHISOFT HQ was used.
During the conference the “Build Copenhagen Live” competition took place. A lot of software was used in 7 different groups (mostly architecture students) creating both a building as landscaping design. Impressive what they achieved in only 48 hours! The winning team had a stunning design and made very good use of open BIM.
It was a great conference and I encourage you to visiting it in 2 years! More info via https://nordicbimacademy.com/
