In a time of destruction, create something. – Maxine Hong Kingston

JUST SAYING

A short month into the Musk administration, we know more. Civil servants are useless. USAID is a criminal organization. Immigrants are polluting the pristine white landscape of the Confederate mind. DEI is the axis of the Evil Empire run by deviant liberals. Gaza becomes a large marina. Palestinians? Preferably deported to Antarctica. Fire in the woods; DEI is the culprit. A stewardess spills beer over your Armani suit; all because of Trans DEI. A Tesla car causes an accident; Canada is the culprit. Donny Drumpf, Boer Elon, the Christian Taliban, and the Confederate Republicans are – now by informal law - exempt from any wrongdoing. Long live the true Americans, ass-kissed by The Fortune 500 and Bill Gates. South Africa will soon be added as the 51st state opening up the way for ELON I to be crowned as King of the USA.

The share price of IkoCiti on the NYSE has tumbled as no stock has ever before. Sellers were paying buyers to buy the stock. The news was out that the founder of IkoCiti was being invited to a one-room apartment in Guantanamo. I was to be made an example. Stay an outspoken liberal favoring DEI and the new Boer Kingdom will make you pay. Boy, oh boy, who will save my dear America? Maybe it is time Denmark invaded America as a preemptive strike to secure Greenland. Then I woke up realizing that I still have a shitload of work to do before we have to chase the dead presidents.

EVAPORATING IMPACT

Many social entrepreneurs try to do good in small areas. Many opinion leaders believe that growing an army of social entrepreneurs is the right strategy. 1.000.000 entrepreneurs create more impact than 122.500. Small contributions add up. But does it? ?I have my doubts. The critical problem is that impact is … like rainwater in the sun. It is like training your hamstrings intensively for two weeks and then nada for months. You will have gained nada. For impact to have … true impact, you need to work on it like a bodybuilder – week in, week out for years.

The impact industry does not want to hear about evaporating impact. The spectacular growth of the social entrepreneur universe is a strategy that will have less impact than is presumed. Essentially because it is a strategy without meaningful coordination; it is just the cumulative of many individual decisions. Nobody seems to care what others do – focused only on themselves. If you ask me? It structurally leads to a high percentage of evaporated impact. ?

What I am not saying is that no impact is made.

There is progress. Only more progress could be made for the same dollar. Do we oppose social entrepreneurs? Hell no, we love them – small as they may be. Their valuable work could be leveraged to create more true impact (the type that does not evaporate). It is like asking Mbappe to play left-back instead of center-forward. He is too talented to fail but you reduce his potential value by 80%.

In the IkoCiti approach, social entrepreneurs collaborate directly with our Maveriqs based on – and this is crucial – a strategic long-term plan to rebuild dedicated barrios. By uniting social entrepreneurs and Maveriqs you get a much more powerful force. The impact train keeps on speeding. Even if some entrepreneurs leave; they are replaced by others. The infrastructure remains intact. The continuous stream of impact keeps flowing. The breakthrough is not realized by any individual project; it is the continuous stream of impact that changes things. The fuel boosting that stream of impact is the growing talent pool of changemakers getting smarter and more experienced by the day. They make sure progress keeps raining down before the hot sun evaporates it into nothing.

SCALE IS MANDATORY

IkoCiti is – among other things – a coordination tool to leverage the work of those who do the actual work in the mud of reality. We bring people together from all over the place who probably would never have found each other. And if they did, they would have to spend a lot more energy, time, and dollars to make the collaboration work. We offer a turnkey solution to collaboration. When the curtains are down, we save people money while making their lives easier. As they start working, we leverage their work as they could never do themselves.

Leveraging impact on a small scale does not add up. It is like erasing 1,000,000 and your strategy reduces it annually by 0,000001. Good luck with that. Building an infrastructure like IkoCiti does not align with small-sized ambitions. You don't build a telephone grid for a square mile. It would be ridiculous. You could counter the argument by saying that impact is local and telephones are not. You are right. Still, the know-how, the money, the tools, the Rolodex (connections), and the technology don’t need to be local. Our infrastructure leverages local impact (!) by using global collective wisdom (intelligence) harvested from people from all walks of life.

The IkoCiti philosophy could be an important part of the solution for people in the street, governments, welfare reformers, and … don’t laugh … for progressive thinkers who want to go beyond the old, tired blahblah of the spineless left. Look at IkoCiti as the protein and BCAAs for progressives who want to do more than just complain about some rich automaker saluting the world in some – hey where have we seen that before – manner. Our ambition is to be as omnipresent as tennis courts in Wimbledon. You cannot imagine a life without them.

INFRASTRUCTURE = THINKING BIGGER

Smart people do not eliminate government, they make it more effective. Governments should primarily be facilitators empowering people to innovate, build, and improve life. They should use IkoCiti as a tool to do business directly with their ambitious citizens in the barrios. Our ambition is crazy but crazy things never happen …. until they happen. Sometimes a visionary personality creates the momentum to enlighten the reasonable 65% to rebuild the roads back to sanity.

The irony is that although the Boer Musk with his PayPal friends is inching closer to those old Apartheids ideals (The Guardian: https://bit.ly/3CGhAWd), his way of thinking bigger than Grand is exactly what IkoCiti needs in our charismatic billionaire. But that is life for you – people who excel in certain areas can be so incredibly ignorant or vile in others.

But nothing grander than Life and the world feeding it. They have seen it all come and go. The sun rises and dawns oblivious to the micro things upsetting us.

King ELON I? Who?

The sun rises, the birds sing, the tiger runs, the fish swims and the world turns. And it won't stop turning regardless. For once, our slow progress has a big advantage. Maybe when we are ready the Confederates and The Christian Taliban have drowned in their hypocrisy.?

So, I keep slow-cooking IkoCiti under the palm trees of another Caribbean island than Guantanamo.

?

THE END
