My Way on Camino de Santiago

My Way on Camino de Santiago

Why did you embark on this #journey? Are you sure you are well prepared? Did you consider all the risks? What does this adventure really bring you?

These are few of the questions I received in the last few months since I decided to take a leap of faith and booked a #discovery journey called #Camino de #SantiagodeCompostela.

I have to admit that sometimes I questioned my decision and there were few times when I thought of giving up. I didn't know all the answers, the #SWOT analysis balanced towards not going (due to the number and the value of the threats and weaknesses) and I kept reassessing the benefits.

More over, I know that the loved ones who kept challenging me had the best intentions at heart and these are the people who value the most to me. Therefore I really wanted to make sure that I understand the scope and the objective of my decision, that I assume the risks, that I am comfortable with the unknown and unseen and that I accept the outcome as being out of my area of control.

As a rational and analytical person, I made sure that I am as prepared as I can both physically and especially mentally to overcome the obstacles, that I had the best possible #trainer, #coach, #mentor, support group and of course the perfect #guide on this journey (who by the way planned the Camino Portuguese trip from day 1 to present by the book and beyond, I can give you her contact if you are considering a journey towards Santiago de Compostela).

Let me share with you few #reflections I made along the way:

  • Camino de Santiago is a step in a longer and fascinating journey that is called life. It’s not the first and won’t be the last. A physical adventure has its charm and importance in the mind-body-soul #balance which we are all aiming for or in other words: Men sana in corpore sano.
  • I truly believe we should put more emphasis on training our body (especially in the nature) as it’s a simple and basic way of getting the right level of oxygen so that the mental processes are at their full potential.
  • Working with yourself or #selfdevelopment can only start from inside, by bringing the unseen and unheard from subconscient to conscient. It takes courage, determination and it’s always better when you are guided by a mentor/coach who you respect and trust.
  • It doesn’t mean you cannot do it on your own, but there are ways to make it simpler, faster, less painful and not to mention less expensive on a long term.
  • We all have the power to decide what we believe is best for us, as long as we are well informed of our options therefore I am very grateful I found the right people by my side.
  • #Working is filling your pockets. #Traveling is fulfilling your heart.

Taking a step back and looking from outside, from an objective observant #perpective, I did a hell of a good job. Maybe I overdid it sometimes, but hey, despite my natural tendency to control everything, I am aware I am not perfect and I don't want to be.

At the end of the day, I strongly believe that, in life, what is important is answering honestly & without overthinking to 2 questions:

Who are you?

Who do you want to become?

Today I feel at peace as the answers not only do they make me happy and satisfied, but they keep me motivated to achieve everything I set my mind to by facing gracefully the unknown, the unseen, the unheard.

Why so convinced, why so #positive?

Why not?

PS: From May 8th to May 31st I will not have the best internet connection and my laptop stays home, therefore apologies in advance for the delay in my replies. I will reach out to you as soon as I am back early June.

The main reason I chose this transformation journey is illustrated in the below song which I found simply beautiful. The Romanian community all over the world could relate to it quite well. Enjoy! https://youtu.be/D1fKH0FMmJk?si=cGL89UyBR8DfuggP
