My Vote in 2020

I voted a couple weeks ago and dropped my ballot off at the local city hall. I feel good about the men and women that I voted for. But today, I’m voting again. This time I’m voting for democracy. I’m voting for America. I’m voting for our system of government that allows each of us to have a say in the future of our country. And I’m voting with every single one of you.
My vote is that our country, our government, and our national traditions are stronger and better than any man or woman than we put in the White House. Presidents come and go; parties rise and fall; economies expand and contract; and the country moves ahead. Not always as fast as we would like. Not always in the direction we prefer. But eventually, it always moves in the direction that “we the people” choose. Today, I’m voting for that. Whoever you and I select as president; whichever party wins the Senate, whoever wins the House, I will support them. And I will give them every chance to lead our nation to success. And if I don’t agree with all their decisions, their leadership, their foreign policy, or their communication style, then I will express my opinions. I may even protest. And in two, four, or six years, I will cast my ballot again for the person that best represents where I want my country to go.
But today, I’m voting with you. I respect you, I respect your choices, and I respect your vote. And I expect that tomorrow will be better, not because of who we elected, but because we voted, together.
Very well expressed

4 年Interesting Brian. I feel the same way. Up until 2 days before the election I was really uptight about the country and the election. All of a sudden after reassuring my daughter everything will be fine whichever way it turns out, I thought back to what we went through in the 60's and 70's. Man, what a messy time but we got through it. (I remember having my bayonet on my M1 ready perform crowd control around the time of Kent State.) So I made peace with myself and I am just going with the flow and will continue to do my part to make things better. I write my elected officials, like Romney, all the time, protest when needed, etc. That's America. Right on, Brian. btw long time no see hope you guys are well.
