My Two-Minute Warning Mindset Mistake
For years I lived my life as if there were two minutes left on the clock.?
We all know about the infamous two minutes warning watching professional football.?
What happens during the two minute warning? What has to happen during the two minute warning??
At times, this is the most exciting part of the game right?
Well, that mindset was unhealthy for me.?
I always had a goal, I always had a deadline, and I always felt behind. Never good enough to get in front of the clock.?
I am thankful I have drive and ambition. I am thankful for having a vision and having goals in front of me.?
However, I took my drive and my ambition too far.?
Looking back now, I am also grateful for this experience. But a little embarrassed because I know I isolated myself from family and friends- those closest to me.?
My justification was: “I’m just trying to provide for my family, give them more options.”?
The whole time I was doing just that-providing for my family, creating more options. Yet I was ignorant of the fact my family needed me. They needed me.?

I was solely focused on my next goal thinking when I hit that goal I will be happy. Always looking for the next win. Not being present in my life.
I was wrong.?
I am not sure where or when I made this realization. Today, I write out three things I am grateful for every day on an app on my phone. And I realized I have an amazing family, amazing friends, a great life.?
They were there the whole time. I just needed to open my eyes and look around.?
Have you ever felt like this? Like you were behind the 8-ball on your goals? Always reacting.?
I dislike saying this; but I needed to hear this more than a hundred times.?
Enjoy the journey.
Really Nick? Enjoy the journey? That sounds so lame.?
I know. But it’s true.?
Life is going to happen around you no matter what. You can be joyful in the process.
Open your eyes.?
