My TTC Top 3 for 2022

My TTC Top 3 for 2022

While 2021 was not exactly the year I had hoped for, it was much better than 2020, and I got to enjoy a return to travel visiting family in Canada, traveling to Las Vegas twice for industry conferences, taking a wonderful group of travel advisors to London and then joining a top producers trip on a Uniworld River Cruise. I am so appreciative for these experiences and it prompted me to contemplate my absolute love for a good adventure.

I am very optimistic about 2022, and with my eldest finishing up his junior year of high school, I feel the need to create some wonderful family memories before the kids are all grown up and busy with lives of their own. As a family we have been lucky enough to explore several sites from the ancient world. We have been to Egypt, Bath, Rome, Pompeii to name just a few... Next on our list is Greece. Treasures of Greece and the Islands is a comprehensive tour of Greece, and a perfect combination of Greek Island hopping, culinary adventures and visits to archaeological sites. I am a big of fan of Insight Vacations for their centrally located luxury hotels and focus on culinary experiences.

It's been a few years since my last trip to Scotland. In 2022, I hope to visit 100 Princes Street, the new Red Carnation Hotels property in Edinburgh. I am from Scottish descent, and have a few explorers in my ancestry, so this hotel, formerly home to Overseas League strikes a real cord with me. With design inspiration from Alexander MacQueen and a wall of whisky to explore, all I need to do is find the perfect tartan wrap to swaddle myself in.

And finally, Xigera Safari Lodge remains on my bucket list from last year. While I have not yet had the chance to go, some of my colleagues and clients have been and absolutely rave about it. Some of the feedback I have heard is that it is incredible and all the other lodges in Africa are going to have to "up their game" in order to compete. With every little detail carefully thought out, and with the passion of the Tollman family behind it, it is sure to be an experience of a lifetime. A safari in Africa is the epitome of classic adventure and it never grows old. I also really appreciate the juxtaposition of raw nature with beautiful art, design and luxury. Siting around the Boma staring up at the African night sky, listening to tales from the bush... I am definitely hearing the call from the wild.

To quote Eleanor Roosevelt, "The purpose of life, after all, is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience".

Wishing you have a safe and happy holiday season, and a new year filled with good health, prosperity and loads of adventure.
