My Truth

Last night Saving Our Men discussed the topic My Truth. The definition of TRUTH can be described in many ways. According to Plato it is the reality that transcends the external world and the Greek Epistemology describes it as the philosophy concerned with knowledge. Malcolm X stated that he was for truth, no matter who tells it and Albert Woodfox determined in his forties to choose his truth of pain by accepting it and turning it into compassion instead of hatred.

If three individuals look at the sky and one describes the sky as being blue, another describes the sky as being sky blue; and someone else describes the sky is pale blue with a purple undertone; is it to say that one’s description is true and the others are not? Or are all three speaking truth? One definition of truth is respecting another person’s perspective; even if that perspective does not align with your vision. Now this is not to say that one should absolutely agree with another’s perspective just for the sake of doing so; but rather be aware that each of us as individuals live in a particular mindset. It is true that we are all family of the human race; yet it is also true that we are all not born into the same physical family.

The immune system of your truth must be nurtured. And it is that nurturing that positions the foundation for your truth to grow and develop. It is essential for truth to be armed with the best equipment in order to sustain the blows of disappointments, joys, failures, sorrow, love and all that accompany life’s journey of experience.

If you were asked to ANALYZE YOUR truth could you? How would YOU DEFINE your truth? How do YOU DETER from falsehoods and accept truth regardless of what you’ve been taught? Is there an event that caused you to RECOGNIZE or IGNORE truth?

In conclusion, TRUTH is the most precious commodity you will ever possess. I encourage you to guard the HEART OF TRUTH NO MATTER WHAT.
