Around 3 years ago I made a decision to give LinkedIn a go. I set up my profile, starting connecting with people and so my adventure begun. 3 years later, 170 sales blogs written, 150,000+ followers, content reaching over 7,000,000+ every month and one of the most popular sales blogs in the world I can't begin to tell you how LinkedIn has changed my life.
Yesterday I had the great privilege to get invited to LinkedIn's London office to meet some of the amazing team there and get a full tour of what I can only describe as the best office I've ever witnessed. I'm going to share with you my experience at LinkedIn HQ with some of the pictures I took to give you an insight to what happens behind the scenes of the worlds largest professional social network.
It all started at the Sales Innovation Expo in London earlier this year, Europe's largest sales event. I was Keynote speaking there and happened to bump into James Ski (pictured above) who is one of the Account Directors at LinkedIn. After a great chat we kept in touch and a few weeks ago he kindly invited me to come and see the office.
My tour started from the very top floor which boasts an amazing top spec fully kitted out gym for the LinkedIn team. On the other side of that floor also sat a mini putting green, although there were no mugs to put the ball in as you often see in films!
One thing that was impressive was that every floor was themed, and all the rooms were themed. And this didn't just mean a quirky name above the door, this is a very well designed above and beyond decoration! One of my favourite rooms was the Harry Potter room!
Complete with stain glass windows and a full bookshelf of wands, potions and film memorabilia. Everything down to the desks, chairs, wallpaper, no detail is spared to make each room as interested and exciting as possible.
You've then got some amazing themed open spaces like the Theatre and Library. Again the detail that has gone into making these rooms and spaces look so authentic is a real credit to the effort LinkedIn make to provide the best working space for their employees.
There are then some brilliant themed individual offices, most are hot desk environments for anyone to work in if they are in the office. There were James Bond themed office, Football, Cricket, Music, the list goes on. I loved the Wimbledon office and the London Bus office!
My all time favourite office as a real Game of Thrones nerd right now was, of course, the Westeros office! The desk, chairs and decoration were so on point, I could only imagine how fun it would be working in that office (whilst discussing the latest series)!
The atmosphere around the building was calm, focused and driven. People weren't glued to desks, but potted around the building in various areas. There was a real sense that the company gives you the environment and tools to succeed and they return that by working hard and delivering results.
I've seen plenty of sales offices that may have a pool table, table tennis, maybe some nice furniture, but the length that LinkedIn have gone to create a truly unique and engaging office space shows their commitment to their team.
I hope you enjoyed this small insight into the LinkedIn office, as I'm sure you can imagine my pictures are only a tiny snapshot of how amazing the building really is. Not only do LinkedIn run the biggest and best professional social media platform in the world, but they really, and I mean really, look after their staff as well.

7 年Nice work Daniel Disney. Some really great numbers there too. I've been on the platform for around 10 years but only started blogging last year. Goes to prove the power of blogging and of course the amazing following on the Daily Sales page. Masterstroke on that, especially given that it's memes but they go down a treat. Be good to see you at next months Sales Hacker event alongside Timothy (Tim) Hughes and some of the other top sales guys.
