My Training and Internship Experience at Oeson Learning: A Journey of Growth and Learning

Over the past few months, I had the incredible opportunity to intern remotely at Oeson Learning as a Data Analyst Intern. This internship has been a rewarding journey where I had the chance to dive deep into real-world data projects, enhance my technical skills, and work closely with experienced professionals. I’m excited to share what I’ve learned and accomplished throughout this transformative experience.

Technical Skills Acquired

Throughout the internship, I worked on several challenging, hands-on projects that helped me develop a diverse set of technical skills. I became proficient in Advanced Excel, mastering complex functions and creating interactive dashboards, such as my E-commerce Sales Performance Dashboard project. My Statistics knowledge expanded as I applied concepts like probability and hypothesis testing to real-world data sets, such as in the Stock Price Analysis of Apple, Microsoft, Tesla, and SP500 (2018-2023) project.

Learning Python for data analysis was another exciting part of my journey. I utilized libraries like Pandas, NumPy, and Matplotlib to automate data cleaning and visualize trends (e.g., my Exploratory Data Analysis on Loan Repayment project). I also gained experience with Tableau by designing compelling dashboards, such as the Superstore Sales Data project, which allowed me to communicate insights through interactive visualizations.

In addition, my understanding of SQL improved significantly through projects like Data-Driven Strategies for Global Film Releases, where I used SQL queries to extract and manipulate data effectively. Towards the end of the internship, I also gained valuable experience in Data Storytelling, learning how to present complex data in a way that’s easily understood by diverse audiences.

Personal Growth and Challenges

Working on real-time projects was one of the most rewarding aspects of this internship. From developing customer segmentation models using clustering algorithms to designing dashboards that reflect business trends, each project tested my analytical thinking and creativity.

One of the highlights of this internship was the support and mentorship I received from Aritri Debnath Ghosh, Assistant Professor and Data Scientist at Oeson Learning. Her guidance helped me refine my skills and grow more confident in tackling data challenges. I appreciated the open lines of communication through platforms like Telegram, which made the remote learning environment feel connected and engaging.

Overcoming Challenges

Of course, the journey wasn’t without its challenges. Adjusting to a remote working environment and managing multiple projects simultaneously required me to develop strong time-management strategies. However, overcoming these obstacles only enhanced my productivity and resilience.

As a data science student, I had prior exposure to tools like Excel, Python, and SQL, but the deep dive into Statistics and Tableau gave me the confidence to approach data analyst interviews with greater self-assurance.

Looking Ahead

This internship has equipped me with both technical expertise and the confidence to move forward in my data analysis career. I am deeply grateful to Oeson Learning for this opportunity and look forward to applying my newfound knowledge in the data science field.
