How to write a powerful CV that will make you standout! Here’s my top tips for a stand out CV.
1. *Presentation* - Create an easy to read cv by presenting your experience, education, skills and accomplishments in a clear readable format under section headers
2. *Accomplishments* – include your job title, employer and working dates of course, but be sure to list your accomplishment; projects you’ve worked on; processes you’ve implemented and there success/results. The biggest mistake people do is list all the admin tasks included in their current/former role which most employers would know given your job title. Remember your cv is about YOU!
3. *Education* - List your education at the bottom. Only if you’re a recent graduate this might change, and if so, include the projects you’ve worked on throughout your degree and their outcome (think of it as mini jobs!).
4. *Interests* - You can show your personality on your CV but listing your interest in going to the gym is not ‘stand out’ nor does it contribute to the role you’re applying for 9 times out of 10! Maybe list the things your most proud of “I received a 1:1 in my Msc degree putting me in the top 2% of my year achieved†- showing your a hard worker without writing those typical words!
5. *Location* - Make sure your location is included on your cv – your city or town is more than enough detail. If you're looking to relocate, include that so not to be disregarding based on your current location.

6. *Contact Details* – we find all too often that contact details aren’t on a cv, or they aren’t current details. Make sure your keep up to date!
7. *Spelling and Grammar* - now you’ve finished writing your CV run the spell check or even better, get someone to proofread.
