I recently, quite boldly and optimistically announced I was setting up a new blog and asked my clients what they would most like me to share with them. My favourite tools was a popular request so here they are.
1. Meditation
There's a famous quote that says something along the lines of "meditate for 15 minutes every morning. Unless you're very busy in which case meditate for an hour"
Learning to meditate had a huge impact on me when I was working my way through depression. It simply gives?you time to sit with?the lies your brain whispers to you that make you feel bad.
What I've learned with meditation is that it doesn't silence my mind but it allows me to be present with the negative thoughts, fears and BS I say to myself then to let them go and be replaced by healthier, kinder thoughts.?
If you're new to meditation, try lots. Find the length that works for you. Try guided meditations. Find someone who has a voice that soothes you. I'm very sensitive to sound. People that speak at a certain pitch or with specific accents bother me. It's not personal.
Find a guided meditation with music you find soothing, or try sound healing. I love Tibetan sound bowls. I find crystal bowls too strong and they often leave me feeling nauseous or give me a migraine.
Find what works for you. Feel free to start with my YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZxg0VXZyQIcMkq7FVQ2EPA
2. Ask Questions
By this I'm referring to the type of questions from Access Consciousness. These are questions you offer up to the Universe without attempting to answer.
This opens up your energy to receive rather than staying stuck.?If you're sitting with your head in your hands repeating over and over "I can't write this article. I'm stuck", for example, you're literally shutting off your ability to receive because you're making that your absolute truth.
When you ask "What would it take for me to be inspired now? What is right about this article that I'm not seeing?" you open up and allow the Universe to offer solutions. You might suddenly hear a song on the radio that inspires you. Someone might walk past your desk wearing a shirt with a quote on.?
My 'go-to' questions are.
What is right about this/ me that I haven't considered yet?
What else is possible?
How does it get any better than this?
What would it take for this to be easy?
3. Gratitude

Nothing new about this. I'm sure you've heard this a million times, possibly just this week but that's because it works. It can be so easy when you're facing challenges to focus on those. Trust me. I have many. I know.
But, there really is always something to be grateful for. If you're really in a bad place, start with simple things like "I'm grateful for the sun coming up" or "I'm grateful for music" No matter how terrible things feel, there's ALWAYS music and the sun always rises.
4. Change your view
I mean this literally and physically. There are honestly days when I'm so focused on writing, doing, who knows what that I have to drag myself outside but it always changes my mindset for the better instantly.?I'm very grateful to live in a beautiful city and to be close to the sea but even a walk to the supermarket and back when I lived in London helped. Even when it was cold and raining and I would tell myself I "hated " it and didn't want to be outside. Ten minutes of fresh (ish) air, movement, the sight of a few trees makes a difference.
During lockdown I even played those videos you get on YouTube that just show a beautiful beach somewhere exotic.
It naturally shifts your focus.
5. Do something you LOVE
Sounds simple but I hear so many people say things like "I used to love reading, writing, painting, singing.....but now I don't have time". Really? What if instead of spending ten minutes worrying and stressing over something you spent those ten minutes doing something you love. You don't need to read a whole book or paint a masterpiece. Read a chapter, doodle. Dance around your room. Prioritise joy instead of making it a reward.
Of course I have a bonus tool for you and this is actually MY number one.
ENERGY HEALING. It transforms your mindset, your beliefs, the way you approach life. As with meditation, find what works for you. I've heard people say "Oh I tried energy healing and it didn't work for me".
There are so many different modalities and so many different healers that saying that is like saying "Food? Oh, no?tried that once and I didn't like it" because the one and only thing you ever tasted wasn't something you like. If the only food I've ever tasted was celery I'd have possibly lived on water for ever.
Try different modalities and different healers. We're all unique, we all have different strengths. Find someone that you feel safe with and drawn too.
I'm going to say something controversial here but reviews and testimonials are great but each one is someone else's experience, not yours. Just because you know 20, 50, 100 people who got great results, doesn't mean that's the right person for you. Trust your gut. You'll FEEL it.
Most healers will have a free meditation, webinar or even just a LIVE somewhere. Try them and see who you're drawn too.
I'd love to know how many of these tools you've tried, which ones you haven't and what your favourites are.
Oh, and in case you're wondering why I started by saying?"I quite boldly and optimistically announced I was setting up a new blog " this is because being blessed with dyslexia and dyspraxia but with almost zero tech skills the actual setting up of the blog is proving to be a challenge.
"What would it take for it to be easy?"
