My top 5 social media tips that you can start using today!

Marketing Manager at Uptech & Premier. Marketing & Brand Building is my thing. ??
Both online and offline, I get to talk with a lot of different businesses and so often the conversation heads towards "so what's the best things for me to be doing on my social media?"
And whilst every business is different, I believe some key things will have a better impact than others, so here are 5 that will get you off to a good start.?
- Post daily - Now you might think this is obvious, but only 1% of all the users on LinkedIn actually post every day, yet more than 50% of users check the platform at least once a day. So you need to decide, are you a 1% user or a 50% user.
- Five a day - Following and connecting with at least 5 new people on LinkedIn every day, that's 1,825 new connections yearly! This is a small yet manageable amount of activity that can be done but will yield results and grow your contacts. The majority of new connections will check out your profile. So make a list of your ideal clients, and start searching and connecting with them.
- Business Shoutout - Showcase another business that you have used or recommend, tag them and share insight about what they did for you, how they helped, how good they were. This is not only a nice thing to do but will put you in front of their audience and connections who naturally will look at your profile and see what you do.
- "Why do I care? So what?" - This one is more about how you review what content you are about to post. Imagine that someone is scrolling and they see your post, then imagine they are asking themselves "Why do I care?" and "So what?". Does the post inform, add value, entertain, pose a question? Is it relevant? There is a reason that blatant ads get little engagement and that is because we are all cultured into spotting them now. So try to use wording and captions that are useful, intriguing and get the audience thinking and considering your content.
- Facts and Stats - Show me you are the expert! Go find industry-related stats, share them, add your insight. Your commentary can be how you demonstrate your experience in a sector building trust with the audience that you are the go-to person for that product or service. It's a great but subtle way of promoting what it is you do, whilst informing people about the industry you are in. If you can show how that stat affects them, or why they should be taking note, then you are on to a winner!
I've picked these 5 as I believe if you complete them, you will start to see a positive difference in your engagement and interactions on social media, and ultimately, that's the point.
Social Media is the broadcast element, the sharing of content. I am sure there are some instances where you have won business or sold product simply off the back of one post, but in the main, many get frustrated with the lack of traction on social media from posting alone.

Whilst we all refer to it as social media, it's the social engagement where the magic happens.
Whilst we all refer to it as social media, it's the social engagement where the magic happens. You post content to inform. You engage with the audience to startup interactions and engagement. Those interactions lead to conversations. Those conversations then lead to opportunities to do business together.
