My Top 5 S&C Blunders (inspired by today)

My Top 5 S&C Blunders (inspired by today)

I've been a right idiot...

Having spent over an hour finishing this weeks installment of the Performance Peek, I accidentally shut down the internet browser screen and lost the lot! (lesson learned).

So with little time left to replace this, but the motivation to still put something of value out, today, I thought to compliment this blunder, I would share my other S&C related blunders from the last ~18 years.

1). Spending too much time on mobility and underappreciating many pain issues are resolved fundamentally by strength development versus making a muscle longer.

2). Being one dimensional in my coaching style in my formative years, yet thinking I wasn't and therefore being too unrelatable to someone.

3). Thinking I was a way better coach technically than I actually was - humbled by this mainly when starting CP and having to coach S&C to people who weren't all genetically blessed, physically experienced and competent individuals.

4). Believing everyone wanted thumping dance music on every single time they train - you can create a great and optimal training climate without playing the same thumping, make your ears bleed tunes (that said, this still very much has its place!)

5). Talking about vague things like 'general/movement foundation' without being able to explain in a simple rationale way, what this simple sounding rational thing was (often learned most coaching youths).

Any of these sound familiar? Be good to hear yours in the comments below :)

Business as usual next week!
