My Top 5 Reads of 2023
...and 2022!
I didn't share one last year so this one includes some from 2022. In no particular order...
Cracking the Happiness Code - by Dr Pamela J Stoodley
Practical! Many of the books on a similar subject delve into long theoretical chapters. This is different. A practical guide indeed, in short bites. I enjoyed that I could open any page and pick up something interesting. I have known Dr Pamela Stoodley for many years, and it was a great pleasure to see her book published. Check it out here.
The Five Dysfunctions of a Team - by Patrick Lencioni
Classic! Like other leadership fables, a well narrated tale. Filled with so many "Aha" and "Haha" moments. Relatable to any workplace environment. You don't need to be a in a leadership/management position to read this and understand what makes a team perform!
Essentialism - by Greg McKeown
An essential! A true "less is more" approach - to everyting. Focusing on the right thing instead of many things. A good reminder about choices we make when work and life gets overwhelming.
HBR at 100 - by Harvard Business Review Press
Masterpiece! A great collection of articles from Harvard Business Review. With topics ranging from strategy to emotional intelligence, from artificial intelligence to racial equity. This is a top-shelf keeper.
Kishore Kumar, The Ultimate Biography - by Anirudha Bhattacharjee and Parthiv Dhar
Delightful! It is a treat for fans of Kishore-da, a legend! Loved the stories behind the yodelling, the pranks, the rivalry and the drama that was Bollywood of the 50's to 80's.
