My Top 5 "Leadership Movies"?

My Top 5 "Leadership Movies"

In today's business world, leadership is more critical than ever. But what does it mean to be an effective leader? The answer is not always obvious, but these five movies will help you learn more about different types of leadership and how it can impact business, networks and "branding".

I'm going to start by saying that I love leadership. I think it's an incredibly important skill to have in a world where people are constantly looking for ways they can get ahead.

But as a leadership specialist, I've found myself asking: Why do we keep putting leadership into one size fits all boxes? There is no one-size-fits-all definition of leadership, and the characteristics of a leader can differ from person to person, organisational need to organisational need. Which they should!

Below are five movies that show different sides of leadership—and might make you think about it in new ways.

If you Google "leadership movies," you'll see loads of military-based films promoting the idea that leaders are always tough guys with big guns, which isn't always true. Some would argue that’s often at the root of leadership issues. Power struggles and ego.

I've been thinking about how we can think about leadership differently - How we can see it differently more easily. The usual examples of leadership are military-based, or the kind promoted in films like "wolf of Wallstreet" with stereotypical recommendations and quotes thrown around, or some sports films but those aren't always the best ways to lead people in business.

Businesses have to create profit, not win wars or games. They have to be places where different people have opportunities to thrive. Where skill, meets focus, meets collaboration, meets adapting.

So here are five that are worth watching. If you want a more creative inside into leadership

  • Coach Carter
  • Hidden figures
  • Willow
  • Erin Brockovich
  • The hunger games

Hidden Figures: This movie follows the lives of three women working in NASA during the 1960s, who were responsible for some of the most important space missions of all time. The film focuses on their work and personal struggles as they overcome sexism and racism to become trailblazers in their field.

Aaron Brockovich: This movie follows the life of a single mother trying to make ends meet after her husband dies. She takes up law as a career, but finds herself fighting against big chemical companies when they threaten her family's health. The story also shows how she has to deal with sexism at work and tries to find a balance between work and home life while raising her children.

Hunger Games: This movie follows Katniss Everdeen through her quest for survival against other fighters from different districts in an arena where only one person can win. It shows how Katniss learns about leadership by following others' lead when.

Willow has a lot of struggles in her life, but its not just about that it's about all those people who helped her get through what she is going through right now. These stories of courage and determination are told with heart-wrenching honesty and real emotion on screen, making it even more powerful as an inspirational story that will inspire you after watching it!

Coach Carter takes over for his friend, who has recently died and begins to coach his team on how to win games and become better players. Throughout the movie, Coach Carter interacts with the players and helps them improve individually and team-wise. He teaches them how to play together as a unit and motivates them when they feel down about themselves or their performance in general.

NOW YOU MAY HAVE ALREADY SEEN THEM BUT WATCH THEM THIS TIME FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF UNDERSTANDING LEADERSHIP FROM DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES AND IMPACTS.
