New year - same newsletter ?? Welcome back to Copilot Your Day, your weekly LinkedIn newsletter all about Copilot. and this one is special, we are celebrating the first birthday of Copilot Your Day - yeeeey! ??.
Let's see what we can expect to see this year ??
PS: at the end you'll find some extra insights from ChatGPT and Copilot ??
Retrospective 2024
Wow, what a year! It was definitely Copilot's year. To be honest, it felt like a roller coaster at times. I know many of us were frustrated many times in 2024. When M365 Copilot didn't work as expected, or a feature suddenly disappeared when it worked super well yesterday. But at the same time, it's just crazy what's happened in the last year. So many great new features, but more importantly, so many great improvements!
And of course it has been the year to explore and prove the value of such AI. At Campana & Schott , we completed more than 120 Copilot projects for more than 90 customers in Europe. We would like to thank all our customers for their trust and the great cooperation!
But the question still remains, what will happen in 2025 after a first pilot or proof of value phase?
Let me share my top 3 predictions for this year.
M365 Copilot breaks through
While 2024 was all about exploring and proving the value of M365 Copilot, I am convinced that this year many organizations will purchase a larger number of licenses. And why is that?
By 2025, many organizations will be purchasing large quantities of M365 Copilot.
First, Microsoft is (finally) delivering on its promises. Based on the roadmap and recent announcements, M365 Copilot will add so much value that it's no longer a question of whether it's worth it or not.
What's more, organizations understand that it's also an investment in a reliable future. After all, as you have probably experienced yourself, it takes a while to get used to.
Organization will fail due to lack of change management
Which brings me to the second point - it feels like déjà vu in 2019/2020. Yes, we all remember when Microsoft Teams launched.
Why should we support and train our employees, WhatsApp hasn't been trained at all.
But the truth is, this organization is still not realizing the full potential of Microsoft Teams because they didn't have proper change management during the rollout. (And yes, I know a lot of organizations started with Teams during Covid. Which is great, but it's been years since Covid and most of them haven't improved their Teams approach).
What I want to emphasize: Don't make the same mistake you made years ago. Support your people and make them AI ready.
It's not like a new way of working with Teams. People need to learn SharePoint and Teams in a minimal way. But today, they can get the job done whether they use Copilot or not.
It's not just a new way of working with M365 Copilot that takes time and support to adopt. According to my LinkedIn survey, there are two main challenges in organizations:
So I think it's even harder than the adoption phase with M365 and Teams, BUT you can create a hockey stick moment when your employees have an aha moment. But unlike a Teams rollout, employees do not have to use Copilot to be successful. Even if they have a license, the worst case scenario is that they do not use it.
So if you invest in a license, invest in change management - believe me, it will make a difference! That's the only way you're going to get a great return on investment. And it supports the AI journey in general, because your people are starting to have an AI mindset, which will be critical for the future.
PS: When I talk about change management, it's not just about user enablement ??
2025 is the year of agents
And third, this year will be all about agents. We saw this trend already in the third quarter of 2024. Organizations that started with M365 Copilot realized that I would have an even greater business impact if you could extend your data source to third-party systems and other core systems.
And if my first aspect happens as I think it will, this one will happen automatically. Because let's imagine you have a UI for AI where your employees just go to ONE place and find all the relevant AI agents. Choose the right one for the right task and you are ready to go. and maybe in the future employees don't need to know which agent is the right one, they can handle it 'internally'. Welcome to the world of agents.
I am more than convinced that every single M365 Copilot customer has dozens of potential agent cases that will create an even higher return on investment. In addition, it supports your change measurements as your employees see and realize the value of an AI-driven workplace.

2 个月Great food for thought Pascal Brunner One point that is missing from your list is the attractiveness for young professionals who are already working with ChatGPT and don't want to miss it in the working world. And here I see an addition to the need for change management that you mentioned. In the workforce of companies, there will be a gap between employees who were born in the digital world and those who need time to get to grips with the new possibilities of AI. In the end, the increase in productivity through the use of Copilot will be the deciding factor for the spread of the tool in 2025.
