My Top 10 Tools For Improving Health

My Top 10 Tools For Improving Health

A tech founder is about to share some secrets that go against the stereotypical entrepreneur grain. Yeah, I'm talking about health.?

Plot twist: I actually care about health, specifically personal health!

Picture this: A guy who gets sucked into endless work rabbit holes, lacks sleep, and survives from copious amounts of caffeine and sheer stubbornness. All the while preaching for the virtues of reducing healthcare risks through technology.?

Well that was me not too long ago.?

That's why I decided to turn things around. If I'm gonna preach about improving healthcare and consider myself a leader in the space, I better walk the walk, right? It’s only fair.

So, let's be real. Staying healthy is hard, whether you are a tech entrepreneur, investor, policy maker or pharmaceutical executive.?

But after a lot of trial and error, here's my arsenal of apps, gadgets, and tools that keep me from crumbling into a stressed-out pile of...well, entrepreneur.

Workout Tech: Because Data is My Love Language

  • Wearables (Whoop, Apple Watch, Fitbit. Been there, done 'em all): These babies are my fitness sidekicks. Gotta get those steps, track sleep, and see how well I'm recovering. Data for the win! Right now my favorite is Whoop, but with time and updates it is subject to change.?
  • Trainerize: Hello, accountability! This app is my virtual coach where I can interact with a personal trainer virtually. They dish out workout plans so I don't end up doing random biceps curls while spending most of my time looking in the mirror. (Something I’ve sadly caught myself doing way too often)
  • Kneesovertoesguy (YouTube): Bulletproofing my joints is the mission. No one wants creaky knees as you approach middle age, especially a startup dude who's been sitting at a desk since forever.

Fueling the Beast: No Sad Salads Here

  • MyFitnessPal: Macros, micros...knowledge is power, even when it reveals I ate an entire pizza yesterday. Oops.
  • Huel: Think "productivity food." Delicious, nutritionally-complete goo for when I'm in crunch mode. Tastes way better than it sounds, I swear. Fast to prepare and faster to consume.
  • Black Coffee: My legal source of superpowers. The calories I save here...let's just say I put those toward non-salad things.

The Reset Button: Avoiding Burnout

  • Calm: Meditation that won't make you roll your eyes. A few minutes of this stuff keeps my brain from spontaneously combusting.
  • Thriva: The inside scoop on my bloodwork. If my energy or something else feels off, this helps pinpoint the reason, so I can fix it fast.
  • Journaling: Where I dump my entrepreneurial angst. Turns out, typing rants and scribbling nonsense is surprisingly therapeutic.

A Word of Warning, Fellow Workaholics: This is NOT a recipe for becoming a yoga-loving, mantra-chanting health guru. But, it might just prevent a mental breakdown or burnout.?

Finding what works for YOU is the secret sauce.

So I’ll leave you with my theme for 2024, courtesy of Kamal Ravikant :?
