1. Newquay Fish Festival, 8th – 10th of September

?The Fish Festival is one of Newquay’s top events for locals and tourists. Now in its 14th year, Newquay Fish Festival celebrates the heritage and cuisine of the town. There will be top chefs doing food demonstrations, and a full entertainments programme, including bands, choirs, singers, dancers and pirates!

This festival has a great atmosphere, with Newquay’s vibrant holiday scene and traditional fishing community colliding.

2. Hall for Cornwall, Grease, various dates in September

The hit West-End show is in Cornwall this September, staring The Wanted’s Tom Parker, as Danny, and Over the Rainbow winner, Danielle Hope. This classic musical is sure to delight with all your favourite songs including, You’re the One That I Want, Grease Is the Word, Summer Nights, Hopelessly Devoted to You, Sandy, and Grease Lightnin’.

Watch Danny and Sandy fall in love again in this amazing stage adaption – you won’t be able to resist jiving to this!

3. Great Cornish Food Festival, Truro, 22nd – 24th of September

This Festival is getting bigger and better every year, celebrating Cornwall’s forever growing food scene, with local produce galore. Your taste buds will be tantalised and tickled at your every turn, with lots of temping food samples. There will be a bar, outdoor street market, cooking demos, Truro’s Farmers’ Market. Celebrity chef Nathan Outlaw will open the festival on the Friday with a food demonstration on the main stage.

4. The Little Orchard Cider and Music Festival, 8th – 10th of September

Celebrate cider at Healy’s Cyder Farm. There’s plenty on at the music stage including Hot House Flowers, Scouting for Girls, and The Neville Staple Band. There’s a silent disco, cider walks, cider tasting and the chance to sample delicious ciders across the UK. Day tickets are available.

5. Newquay Beer Festival, Hendra Holiday Park, 22nd – 24th of September

Newquay Beer Festival is back for 2017, right here on site (but don’t worry it is away from the caravans) with over 50 real ales and 20 ciders to sample, with 19 ales and 6 ciders being from Cornwall. There is plenty of live music on every night too.

6. British Stand Up Paddle Surfing National Championships, Newquay, 23rd – 24th of September

This two-day tournament is held at Watergate Bay. Stand Up Paddle-surfing (SUP) is growing in popularity and is an ancient form of surfing which can be traced back to the very early days of Polynesia. Riders stand on a large surfboard and use a single-bladed paddle to manoeuvre themselves through the waves. Competitors are judged on their style and how they ride the waves, like a surfing competition, but also on how they use the paddle. This is an exciting sport to watch in which the British champions will be crowned.

7. Truro Day, 10th of September

A community day at Boscawen Park, great for the whole family. There will be live bands, a baking competition, dance demonstrations, children’s entertainment and much more.

8. St Ives September Festival, 9th – 23rd of September

The St Ives Festival began 40 years ago and is ready to start once again with 15 days of music, theatre, poetry, film, walks, talks and arts events. The events are held in venues throughout the beautiful town.

9. Redruth Pasty and Mining Festival, 8th – 10th of September

This three-day event celebrates the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Redruth; through pasties, mining and music. There’s plenty to do for the whole family with make your own pasty exhibitions, storytelling, fancy dress competition, live music and fairground rides.

10. Cornish Bluegrass Festival, Hendra Holiday Park, 15th – 17th of September

Get your toes tapping and a ready for the Cornish Bluegrass festival at Hendra. Hendra’s cabaret hall, the Venue, is changed into a banjo and guitar playing heaven, with a huge marquee on the grounds too. Bands include Down County Boys, The Kentucky Cow Tippers, and Wood Wire and Words.
