My Today's Luggage On Warsaw-Bound Train
A friend of mine whom I met at the Scrum Warsaw (remember, you always meet nice people at the Scrum Warsaw events) has asked me to share some highlights from the Agile Swarming in Krakow (????) with him. So I thought that if sharing with one Agile aficionado is good, sharing with many is a lot better ??
Alors.
The keynote speaker, Arie van Bennekum, who co-authored the Agile Manifesto, was obviously a must-hear. He spoke a lot about the Agile mindset itself and how it relates to particular frameworks. I was extra-fortunate to steal half an hour of his time and we discussed misconceptions about Agile and Scrum scaling. It was a great reminder that Agility is an ambition. If you’re dying to know more about what we talked about, which I’m sure you should and you are, look for our interview in the Harvard Business Review Polska. Thanks Arie, that was precious.
I don't normally take selfies with keynote speakers but when I do, they are co-authors of the Agile Manifesto.
I also enjoyed the lecture of Micha? Roso?owski of Motorola Solutions in Poland. He definitely deserves high praise for his openness about what went well and wrong in their SAFe adoption. It was especially good to hear when paired with the maple leaves dream team of Tom Winter and John Scholman who gave a wonderfully informative lecture on the Nexus application in the Motorola Solutions in Canada. If you, like myself, are interested in scaling Agile, those two lectures were exactly what you want to hear. I picked well and now I'm patting myself on the back.
Today’s definite highlight was Marcin Zió?ek workshop on scaled communication which served a remarkable lesson on how prejudice can be an obstacle to delivering the message effectively. It all summed up to over three hours of extensive and thought provoking teamwork. I would love it even if our team hadn't won twice ??
As I was hopping on my Warsaw-bound train, I was carrying a heavy luggage of inspiring and useful knowledge with me. Both in the professional and, excusez le mot, scientific aspect which is a separate story for me so I won't go into details here.
Thank you Motorola Solutions, you’re doing it right.
