My Today is better than my Yesterday.
Our first major vacation as a family, to Alaska.

My Today is better than my Yesterday.

“Day by day, in every way, I am getting better & better & better.” Words from a wise guru, Mahatria, that have defined a fundamental shift in the last few years of my life.

Looking back at my life, I have been blessed. Born to two loving parents who would go to the ends of the earth to support my progress & ensure my happiness. A mother who is the epitome of love, strict yet understanding, tough but loving. And a father who has a happy, carefree, easygoing attitude & unconditional love. Two opposing personalities that worked together like magic & gave my sister & I the balanced upbringing all children should get.

As for me, I went from being a top ranked student, to studying in some of the best universities, to becoming a high-flying corporate employee, to finally choosing to give it all up, starting on the path to becoming a well-rounded businesswoman & going after material success by doing what I like (the happy way).

And that brings me to my topic: ‘My today IS better than my yesterday.’

How? Two ways to think about it.

Looking back, everything I have become today is the cumulative of my life experiences until now. If my experiences today were great, it obviously makes my today better than yesterday. However, if my experiences today did not make me feel as good, then I gained some maturity, perspective and became a better person.

Looking forward, every day, I am one step closer to my goal. Granted, some days that step comes in the form of a giant leap, on others, it is a slower crawl, but nevertheless it is a step forward & onward.

Remember the good old days, but remember, your best is yet to be. Keep moving onwards.

  • Peak every day. Choose to be better today than yesterday. And if you fail, be kind to yourself.
  • Learn & gain maturity from your experiences every day, especially on the tough days.
  • Keep moving forward. Slow or fast, but a step in the right direction is still taking you closer to your goal. (P.S. HAVE a goal).
  • Every day is more beautiful than the previous because YOU are determined to see it that way. Perception is reality.

Onwards & Upwards!
