Thinking of three words for 2024

Stepping into 2024, I'm setting my course with three powerful words that I believe will be instrumental in shaping what I intend to be a year of growth, impact, and personal evolution.

Valuing

This year, my focus is on truly valuing what's important to me; it's about deeper appreciation of relationships, acknowledging my self-worth, and recognising (and at times protecting) the value I bring.

There are times when I may need to be more conscious and intentional to find gratitude in what may be considered the “daily grind”, cherishing the small moments that add up to a more fulfilling life.? Whilst recognising that too much grind may mean I am not focussing on what I should value or what will bring value.?? This will include valuing sleep and the wellbeing aspects I have neglected in 2023.

Professionally, this means valuing the work I do, the people I collaborate with, and the contributions I make. It's about being present and effectively and using all of my multiple intelligences on the present, whilst being driven by the potential of what's ahead.

So it’s a mix of appreciation, acknowledgement, protection, and enhancement.

Leveraging

I am committing to leveraging my strengths and the resources at my disposal. I plan to make the most of the skills, knowledge, and networks I've built over the years. This year is about finding greater strength in consciously leveraging the right partnerships and collaborations.

Leveraging, for me, will involve embracing new technologies, adopting strategies to optimise and enhance my current capabilities to create more significant impact in my professional life.

Leveraging our start-up Entrepleio, making greater use of the expertise and experience we have in-house, with our clients and network to model and execute the behaviours and differences that make the difference.??

Last year we invested considerable effort in upgrading our individual assessment tools and we are continuing to leverage this investment.? We will also build on the team elements this year.

Morphing

Working in the change and transformation business it is easy to put yourself to one side, neglect yourself and end up with “builders house syndrome”.?? To be authentic it is important to remember the words of the late great Grant Soosalu “we are all becomings” and work on becoming.

2024 is about intentionally embracing the concept of morphing – adapting, growing, and staying open to new possibilities, whilst balancing the exploration with focus.?

I see change as an opportunity to gain experience and evolve. In my personal and professional journey, morphing means staying agile, being ready to pivot when needed, and remaining open to fresh ideas and diverse perspectives.?

My summer reading involved a range of different titles and topics, and I noticed that the authors/ subjects had diverse interests and were deliberate in seeking out new experiences, knowledge and contacts, even if they were at at times on opposing sides to their beliefs/ experiences.? I believe in the power of making new connections (ideas, things, people) and this requires some investment to explore and understand.?

?

As I navigate through 2024, these three words – valuing, leveraging, and morphing will help me to focus my attention and actions. Three words to remind me to appreciate and make the most of what I have, to use my strengths to their fullest potential, to stay adaptable and embrace a year full of growth, challenges, and opportunities.

?So there you have it, my three words for 2024.???Do you do this sort of thing? would you consider it??If so, what are your three works for 2024??I love to hear from you.

I really like those, Mark. I especially like the descriptions, and the AI art's a nice touch, too. I like Morphing a lot.
