My three favorite lead magnet strategies for podcasters.

My three favorite lead magnet strategies for podcasters.

Hey?Pod Pals!

This?newsletter was lovingly curated (without the use of any AI) in real time on Thursday?morning at 9:44 am CST.?

I just experienced a funny moment where I was slowly sipping my cold brew and then I wondered......exactly how many cups have I had so far today????

Then my brain suggested that I have just ONE more so I can knock out an amazing newsletter!

???This week we are going to talk about my favorite lead magnet ideas for podcasters.

I was getting interviewed on the Mics To Millions podcast yesterday and the host (Shout out to Sam!) asked me what metrics I like to track with my podcast. I think I surprised him when I said my EMAIL LIST subscriber count!

Too many podcasters are "too busy" to focus on building their email list...so please allow me to supply a bit of motivation to do so.?

Currently my email list is at about 2,600 people (thank you!).....but that isn't an earth shattering super impressive number.

Even so, in March of this year I sent out ONE single email that ended up producing over $30,000 in new clients for me.......now are we fired up about building our email list????

One of the tried and true strategies for building your email list is via a solid lead magnet and today I wanted to break down my THREE favorite types of lead magnets.?

?1. Quick WIN Lead Magnets: These are the downloadable PDF's, Scorecards, Workbooks, and mini courses that help deliver a quick win for the person that opt's in.?

My favorite child out of this lead magnet family is the Scorecard. My Podcast Growth Scorecard took me about 30 minutes to create as a Google Sheet and it's put about 1,200 people on my email list so far.?

In this lead magnet category the main thing you have to watch out for is under-delivering. I had a friend that created a downloadable PDF lead magnet that was just four sentences.....and I advised that he not use it because people would feel ripped off....sadly he didn't listen.?

With a Quick Win lead magnet we want to find the sweet spot between over-delivering while not overwhelming!

? 2. Experience Based Lead Magnets: These are things like coaching style podcast episodes, community podcast episodes, free challenges, free workshops/webinars.?

With this type of lead magnet the participants will have a direct experience with you as a coach/leader and these are GREAT for building super fans.?

Many podcasters avoid this type of a lead magnet because it isn't "scalable"....aka....there is a limit to how many people can participate at once. They'd rather use a scorecard that they can blast to thousands of people at once.?

I get their point, but I will make a case for using BOTH of these types of lead magnets.

I have a lot of people that come into my world with my Podcast Growth Scorecard (Quick Win) and then come deeper into my world with a Pod Pals Zoom Party or my free monthly workshop series (Experience Based).....this is how super fans are made!

? 3. New Podcast Listener Resource Guide: This is my latest creation in the lead magnets for podcasters category! I came up with this (admittedly unoriginal) idea as I did a coaching session with one of my Download Growth Club members a few weeks ago.?

They were struggling to come up with a lead magnet idea because they didn't sell anything like coaching, consulting, or courses...but they still wanted to build their email list.?

Within about 15 minutes we had the basics worked out for a New Listener Resource Guide template that will work for ANY podcaster as a lead magnet.?

?? Client?testimonial of the week:?My client?Laurie-Ann Murabito has an awesome podcast called?the Be In Demand podcast.

Check out what she has to say about working with me:

"I joined the Download Growth Club because I just wanted my podcast to reach more people and also to become the center of my content universe. My downloads had flattened out and they weren't getting any better. My favorite part about being a member of the DGC is the community of like minded people and the training library that Adam has created. It's nice being able to access Adam directly and take advantage of his experience and brilliant outside of the box ideas! If you ask me, it's one of the best investments I have ever made!"?

?

??What's happening on THREADS this week:

In the last two weeks I've signed up three new clients that all said that they found me on Threads.......if you aren't over there yet I would highly suggest it!?

?

?? Last thing for today: I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for listening to my podcast, chatting with me on social media, and taking the time to read my newsletter. I'm having the time of my life with my online business and it is YOU (my audience) that is allowing for this to happen!?

?

That is all for today. Considering the high energy level of this newsletter I'm assuming that I did, in fact, consume an extra dose of cold brew coffee this AM.....I may have to make this a regular thing!

Your Pod Pal,

Adam
