TRANSPARENT- lovely, beautiful series - funny and wildly original. The script is fresh and the unpretentious language of the "trans" community felt as if I were eavesdropping on actual conversations. The actors were both moving and self-deprecatingly humorous - each performer had his/her own wrestling match with life - delivering a diversity of sexual proclivities - exposed with a fragile tenderness, and an exquisite sensitivity to the wrenching struggles that hidden secrets burnish on our psyches. Epigenetics and its affect on future generations of Holocaust survivors is woven into Jill Soloway's (the creator and director) ongoing tale, searching for shafts of light in the destructive past up into the present.
