My tech stack to organize life_Part 3

This is the third and last part of the multi-part article My tech stack to organize life. You can read part 2 here and part 1?here?of this article.

In part 1 and part 2, we mostly looked at tools that help us organize and keep our online activities safe and productive. In this part, we will look at organizing other aspects of personal productivity to help us do more with less.

Organizing and planning your travel

Let’s begin this article with some travel apps and tools. When it comes to traveling and especially planning, there is no dearth of information or tools and platforms on the internet. Planning travel is not hard anymore, but finding the best tool that serves all your travel needs is hard. From my bad experience traveling to picturesque Mauritius on a travel package from a travel service provider, I started planning all my travel by myself while staying on my budget. In the last few years, I have discovered some amazing tools that can help plan trips easily, save money, and document your travel memories.

Wanderlog

Till I found wanderlog, I was a huge fan of Tripit, an app and web based platform that is your go to spot to access all your travel related info from hotel reservations to places to visit and things to do. But I feel the app has not changed at all in the last few years, the interface is still cluttery and no so get user experience. It is also not so customizable as per your preferences. There was no good equivalent tool that does everything that Tripit can do. I stumbled upon Wanderlog and I would describe it as a better Tripit that can do even more. I used to plan my recent travel to Banff and Jasper in Alberta and it was a great experience.

Hopper/Google Flights

When it comes to finding flights at the best price, I would recommend Hopper and Google Flights. They both are best in their own way, and that is they help you find the flights based on your budget and tell you if that’s the best time to book it to help you save money. While booking flights have been their core feature, but they have expanded with other travel-relevant services. Hopper now offers hotels and cars along with a suite of financial products to insure your travel and protect you against losses. On the other hand, Google Flights is gradually transforming into a travel planning platform offering hotels and things to do info along with all the destination-related travel articles and vacation rentals options.

Polarsteps

You have planned your travel and booked your flights, and now what? Journal your travel for your memories with pictures and notes. Polarsteps calls itself a trip planner app, but its trip planning capabilities are very limited, but once you have scheduled the date and time of your trip in the app, it will automatically plot the route on a detailed map by constantly checking your location, marking the duration and distance between different travel points. You can also document your experience at those travel points offline by adding pictures and notes to them. I have been using it for 3 years now and have some great memories captured in it.
