My Talk at Google: The Brain Warrior's Way
Daniel G. Amen, M.D.
Double Board-Certified Psychiatrist, 12-Time New York Times Best-Selling Author, Founder of Amen Clinics
In December, I was invited to speak at Google Headquarters for a 'Google Talk' to discuss my latest book, The Brain Warrior's Way: Ignite Your Energy and Focus, Attack Illness and Aging, Transform Pain into Purpose.
Psychiatrists are among the only medical professionals who do not consistently utilize imaging of the body part they treat (the brain). But looking at the brain changes everything - watch my Google Talk as I describe the daily behaviors we can take that either improve or harm our brain's health.

8 年I also liked the citation of President Putin you quoted in the question section. “We as a species have the choice to continue to develop our bodies and brains in a healthy upward trajectory, or we can follow the Western example of recent decades and intentionally poison our population with genetically altered food, pharmaceuticals, vaccinations, and fast food that should be classified as a dangerous, addictive drug.” “We must fight this. A physically and intellectually disabled population is not in our interests,”

8 年Wonderful talk, it touches all the issues. Tanju Surmeli touches 3 points I like to see myself: (1) We need to use more functional techniques in clinical practice, especially qEEG, (2) Combining these techniques might prove useful and (3) qEEG need to follow your example of creating a large database. On this last one, Tanju might be already be on this path.

8 年Excellent talk. I agree with you that psychiatrists must know the organ they are treating. I use QEEG and neurometric analysis to learn about the brain's functions in thought, emotion, and behavior, and guide my psychiatric treatments as a psychiatrist. By using QEEG guided neurofeedback treatment or selecting appropriate psychotropic medication I was able to personalize the treatment of over 7000 patients.
