My takes from the Presidential candidates' pitch
Yesterday, along with 1600 representations of the French tech ecosystem, I assisted in a pitch session at le Cirque d’Hiver Bouglione which looked like a reverse pitch! This time the Presidential candidates pitched their programs for France’s tech ecosystem. You can find the complete program here:
These are my takes from the meeting:
While all candidates took different positions on the subject, there was a clear consensus on political will for French sovereignty and European independence against American dominance and its extraterritorial attitude.
By far, the most interesting and structured pitch and the pegmatitic project was the one presented by Cédric O, whom by the way I regret very much to hear of leaving the political field.? The worst pitch,? I would say, was given by?Bastien Lachaud, representative of Jean-Luc Mélenchon. It seemed that he didn't know what he was talking about.
I was surprised by the quality of intervention by Yannick Jadot. He emphasized the responsibility of digital and tech actors while he shows he knows perfectly the European regulations on digital sovereignty. He was able to give a synthesis of the importance of regulations for big digital actors without limiting the freedom that startups need for innovation.

Interestingly, Valérie Pécresse had a good pitch. She presented a coherent plan with good presentation skills that I found to be a real improvement in comparison to her previous public speeches. She also emphasized a lot on French sovereignty,
In the face of a question about promoting diversity in tech, Zemmour explicitly declared that he is not a fan of diversity policies. He was challenged by questions such as whether we need international talent in tech and how we could manage it with zero immigration policy. Apparently,? he realizes how unrealistic his policy is in this domain and responded that there could be some exceptions to the Zero immigration policy.
Anne Hidalgo talked about the ethics and social responsibility of the tech ecosystem without any concrete plan. It seemed that she had completely lost her confidence. She did not appear as someone who sees herself as a potential president.
And Marine Le Pen was absent in this meeting!
PS: I would like to thank France Digitale for this opportunity
